  • A Walk on the Beach at the Southern Tip of Rosneath Peninsula, Argyll & Bute
A walk on the beach at the southern tip of Rosneath Peninsula, Argyll & Bute. The air, the water and the land, and sadly, the litter. Tam Ward. 2019. A tiny part of Scotland – with so much to offer. Rosneath Peninsula and Upper Clyde Estuary, The southern tip of Rosneath Peninsula Argyll & Bute 1 The sky was a bland but beautiful shade of pale blue interrupted only by occasional and ever changing clumps of fluffy topped white and grey clouds, constantly modifying themselves into slowly moving and ever changing shapes, of curly topped travellers heading to some unknown destination across the horizons. The airborne islands of pearly white seemed endless in their seemingly mysterious source as the continued their journey – appearing from somewhere – and disappearing to – another place. Gareloch Gareloch and Helensburgh The skyward scene is only occasionally interrupted by the apparently motiveless flight of a bird or flock of them, sometimes alone but on other occasions as a flight of well-meaning direction, especially at some specific spot on the beach where they will swoop down as if with a single mind, perhaps sensing a good spot for lunch, or just taking a chance on one. Further out, especially if the sea is flat, the expert divers of gannet, tern or cormorant will streak down and disappear in a little flash of sparkling water, to erupt again some distance away, and If they were lucky, as they usually are – with their beak held quarry. Now and then a frenzy of such activity by a gang of birds would indicate a hapless shoal of fish had been detected near the surface.

  • Candidate Statements Arrochar and Tarbet
CANDIDATE STATEMENTS ARROCHAR AND TARBET COMMUNITY COUNCIL BAX, Anne S To represent the community of Arrochar, Tarbet and Succoth. GREENWOOD, Ellen Maria I have been a resident in Arrochar since 2000. I worked for a number of years in the GP surgery – assisting to develop the evening clinic and YOUTH group. My family and I appreciate the benefits of the 3 Villages Hall – regularly supporting events and groups. I attend Arrochar Parish Church and help in the fundraising team. As the primary role of the Community Council is to communicate the views of the community to local authorities, I would welcome the opportunity to share my time and skills to support and promote a community where I am proud to live. HAGGARTY, Mary I have been a community councillor for the past twenty years first serving with Glencroe and now with Arrochar and Tarbet. Over the years I have been involved in many different projects and issues some of which have been solved or completed quickly and others are “still ongoing”. Being a community councillor is not a job for anyone who gives in easily, and I can assure you that I have over the years proved my staying power! My promise to you is that to the best of my ability I will continue to seek a fair deal from any Authority whose responsibility it is to deliver services to the residents of Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui. KAY, Ian Having been born and lived in the village of Tarbet all of my life, I am aware of the majority of issues which affect the local residents and the surrounding villages.

Closing the Opportunity Gap (CtOG) Target ‘h’ Template for Developing Local Target Setting for Rural Services Priority Areas (RSPAs) To be completed for each RSPA CtOG Target ‘h’: By 2008, improve service delivery in rural areas so that agreed improvements to accessibility and quality are achieved for key services in remote and disadvantaged communities. 1. Geography of Rural Service Priority Area Community Planning Partnership Argyll and Bute Datazone number SO1000800 Name of ward within which datazone lies East Lochfyne, Holy Loch Intermediate geography number and name SO2000146, Cowal North 2. Description of services to be targeted for improvement, the boundary and equality impacts 2a) Describe the proposed service(s) to be included in the target. Include generic type (e.g. health/education); service deliver(s); and population to be targeted (e.g. age group) Advice Network online referrals – a collaboration between public, private and voluntary sector agencies to better coordinate provision of advice services. The system allows an organisation to refer a client to the appropriate source of advice that may be located at a distant site and track the referral through to its resolution or closure. This will improve access to advice services and referrals will ensure that the network plays to the strength of its members, thereby improving quality. Community transport – extension of the Cowal Deserve community transport scheme to the datazone area and support for purchase of a community bus to be owned by the Loch Goil Trust. Access to health services and a range of community activities will significantly improve.
