The 26.2-mile Skechers Performance LA Marathon will trek along a similar route to last year, going from downtown’s Dodger Stadium to the Pacific coast. Along the way, participants will again pass some of Los Angeles’ most famous landmarks and journey through diverse neighborhoods. The race begins on Sunday, March 19 at 6:30 a.m. for Wheelchairs, 6:42 a.m. for Handy cycles, 6:45 a.m. for Elite women’s, 6:55 a.m. Elite Men and Full Field. Family Fun at the LA BIG 5K: On March 18th, the day before the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, people of all ages and abilities will take part in the 2017 LA BIG 5K at Dodger Stadium. The family-friendly event features beautiful views of Los Angeles as the course takes people through iconic Elysian Park before a rewarding finish set against the backdrop of Dodger Stadium. Those interested in participating are encouraged to register at www.labig5k.com. Various streets along the marathon route will be closed by 3:15 a.m. on March 19, then reopen as early as 10:15 a.m., depending on the location.
