Going to 463 Belch, Ladislaus Myrtle St., as is JM. Bolch is a German surname; Belch is Polish.Given name may be Wladyslaw. No ticket to final destination. Belch, Ladislaus Traveling w Jozef Michalski. Not previosuly in US. But, is this the same man as Ladyslaus Belch? Problem manifest page because of bursar sloppiness. 10 travelers from "Dobrzelow" [Dobrzechow] in succession on manifest, 5 men, 5 women plus 2 others from "Dobrzechov" [Dobrzechow] and 8 fr "Strussow" [Strzyzow]. "Dobrzechov" and "Dobrzelow" entered only once each, then followed by ditto marks. Country listed as Austria for all. Marya Belch has no ticket to final destination. Ellis Island gives 2 entries for Felix Bryda (1911 and 1913) with nearly identical physical descriptions. In 1911 Felix is going to brother Marcin on Oak St in Meriden. 1910 US Census shows a Martin Bryda, 24, silversmith, Polish, born in Austria living w wife at 17 Jefferson St., Meriden, Conn. Jefferson St. is near Oak St [the two streets appear on same 1910 census sheet.] For 1913 arrival Feliks and brother Jozef may well 5' 1", fair, have been migrant agricultural workers working in Russian partition, and leaving from that place for the brown hair, grey U.s. Also possible that on 1913 entry Russia is a recording error on ship's manifest, made because 8 Bryda, Feliks eyes Dobrzechow Russia preceding travelers are from Russia. "Z" in village name read as "g" and name transcribed as Dobrgechow. 5' 2", fair, brown hair, grey Probably traveling alone. All but one travelers on page are Polish from Austria. Dobrzechow spelled 2 ways Bryda, Feliks eyes Dobrzechow Austria on manifest. Birthplace looks like Dolriechow; "br" in Dobrzechow are elided to look like "lr." Traveling w brother Feliks. Both going to Meriden, Conn. Both give contact relatives in Dobrzechow. Ellis Island gives 2 entries for Felix Bryda (1911 and 1913) with nearly identical physical descriptions. In 1911 Felix is going to brother Marcin on Oak St in Meriden. 1910 US Census shows a Martin Bryda, 24, silversmith, Polish, born in Austria living w wife at 17 Jefferson St., Meriden, Conn. Village spelled Dobrocelow on manifest and transcribed as such. 9 travelers in succession on page; 6 from Kozuchow, 1 other from Dobrocelow, 1 from Dobrzechow (spelled correctly but transcribed as Dobrz. .how).
