Jim Dinning, Acting Chair. APPENDIX 1 The Grande Yellowhead Regional Division No. 35 Establishment Order (Order in Council 587/94) is amended by this Order. 2 Section 5 is amended by striking out clause (c) and substituting the following: 5(c) to represent The Jasper School District No. 3063 Ward effective September 1, 1995 (i) Gloria Kongsrud 3 Section 7 is amended by striking out clause (c) and substituting the following: 7(c) one (1) trustee for The Jasper School District No. 3063 Ward. 4 Section 9 is amended by striking out clause (c) and substituting the following: 9(c) all persons employed by The Board of Trustees of Jasper School District No. 3063 in the delivery of educational services in The Jasper School District No. 3063 on September 1, 1995 will be transferred and become employees of the Board. 5 Section 10 is amended by striking out clause (c). THE ALBERTA GAZETTE, PART I, JUNE 30, 1997 6 The following Section is added after Section 10: 10.1 Effective September 1, 1995: (a) The Board of Trustees of Jasper School District No. 3063 is dissolved and all assets and liabilities relating to the provision of educational services in The Jasper School District No. 3063 are transferred to the Board. (b) All assets, liabilities, rights, duties, functions and obligations of The Board of Trustees of Jasper School District No. 3063 pertaining to municipal services, excluding leases pertaining to municipal services, are vested in the Minister of Municipal Affairs for Jasper Improvement District. (c) All taxes due to The Board of Trustees of Jasper School District No. 3063 are deemed to be taxes due to the Minister of Municipal Affairs for Jasper Improvement District and may be dealt with as if the taxes had been imposed by the Minister of Municipal Affairs for Jasper Improvement District. (d) All rights of action and actions by or against The Board of Trustees of Jasper School District No. 3063 pertaining to Municipal Services may be continued or maintained by or against the Minister of Municipal Affairs for Jasper Improvement District. 7 Section 12 is struck and the following is substituted: 12 The Jasper School District No. 3063 shall be established as a ward of The Grande Yellowhead Regional Division No. 35 effective September 1, 1995. ________________________________________________________________________ GOVERNMENT NOTICES EDUCATION MINISTERIAL ORDER 007/97 (School Act) I, Gary G. Politicians, Journalists, Wikipedians, and Their Twitter Bots HEATHER FORD1 University of Leeds, UK ELIZABETH DUBOIS University of Ottawa, Canada CORNELIUS PUSCHMANN Hans-Bredow-Institute for Media Research, Germany WikiEdits bots are a class of Twitter bot that announce edits made by Wikipedia users editing under government IP addresses, with the goal of making government editing activities more transparent. This article examines the characteristics and impact of transparency bots, bots that make visible the edits of institutionally affiliated individuals by reporting them on Twitter. We map WikiEdits bots and their relationships with other actors, analyzing the ways in which bot creators and journalists frame governments’ participation in Wikipedia. We find that, rather than providing a neutral representation of government activity on Wikipedia, WikiEdits bots and the attendant discourses of the journalists that reflect the work of such bots construct a partial vision of government contributions to Wikipedia as negative by default. This has an impact on the public discourse about governments’ role in the development of public information, a consequence that is distinct from the current discourses that characterize transparency bots.
