Meaningful and humorous character moments can be found throughout the collection. Overall: This may be the best Justice League volume in an already impressive series of Justice League volumes. The story here takes readers on a journey to a mysterious new world, where the tension is palpable, Justice League: Volume 4 heroes stand out, and the visuals showing it all look gorgeous. This creates a fantastic adventure that also sets up future volumes. Justice League Vol. This collection starts with a creatively designed and wonderfully suspenseful situation that explodes Justice League: Volume 4 a fantastic display of heroism. It is a great story to see play out and a Justice League: Volume 4 centerpiece for this collection. Then, the volume concludes by expanding on the larger narrative of this series and continuing to build toward its ultimate conclusion. This is a volume that offers plenty on its own and even more when viewed in the context of this series. The Sixth Dimension opens by having the Justice League enter the Sixth Dimension, an apparent utopia where the Justice League has brought peace and evil is no more. This creates tension, as readers are left to wonder what is wrong with this seemingly perfect world and at what point the truth will be revealed. Then, the truth comes Justice League: Volume 4. The majority of the Justice League Justice League: Volume 4 are immediately imprisoned and Batman apparently sides with the villain in a plan that will replace the multiverse Justice League: Volume 4 one that brutally imprisons any sign of evil. It is a fantastic conclusion to a fantastic series of events. This portion of the book is primarily focused on setting up an even larger conflict down the road, one that will pit the Justice League and the Legion of Doom in one final battle. The marshalling of forces on both sides and the clearly apparent increases in power ensure readers that they do not want to miss the next volume. Like previous volumes, The Sixth Dimension also continues to deliver on excellent character moments. The artwork in The Sixth Dimension is so beautiful that if the volume had no words at all, it would still be worth reading. It provides glowing depictions of the heroes that allow Justice League: Volume 4 to stand out as the shining beacons of justice they are meant to be. It also provides an amazingly creative take on Justice League: Volume 4 Sixth Dimension itself. Here, awesome new takes on familiar characters, interesting reimaginations of older characters, and a genuinely unique depiction of an ideal world help punctuate many points made throughout the story. Though not quite as shockingly gorgeous as the work in the rest of this collection, these chapters still contain positive artwork. The darker and creepier visuals seen here work well with the post- Year of the Villain environment. In general, the artwork throughout this volume is great and helps make this a better comic. That being said, it is still interesting. The book feels like a big event book with lots of ramifications coming. But some gifts come with strings attached and the ones on this one might be too unethical for the Earth's greatest heroes. This is why I've come to enjoy writer Scott Snyder over the past years. He channels his own inner Grant Morrison and lets loose all of the craziest of his ideas in an oddly satisfying way as he attempts to unveil the never-before-seen mythology behind the fabric of the omniverse. While the story in itself does unveil the intricacies of the mysteriously insane Sixth Dimension, a control room of the Multiverse where cosmic beings create the fates of various worlds, it also explores the fire that burns within the Justice League in their desire to fight evil and save humanity. Take Superman's character, for example. Writer Scott Snyder does an enviously incredible job in building the predicament in which he dwells as he's put through the wringer. Not only does he find himself in a trap that strips him from the iota of hope that he was trying to hold onto, but his flashback sequences with his son also turn his sub-plot throughout this story-arc truly memorable and powerful. This isn't just about heroes and villains anymore. This is about fighting against faith, destiny, and everything in between in hopes to see another day. What makes this volume stand out from previous installments is artist Jorge Jimenez. His artistic vision is beyond this world. Every single panel. Every single detail. He's a master of his craft and he knows it. The drawings simply fly off of the pages and smack you around with raw emotions and godly designs. The story also has an incredibly psychedelic touch to it hence the Grant Morrison reference earlier and he is the perfect artist to execute the task at hand. There isn't an instance where the strange and eccentric elements straight from writer Scott Snyder's mind weren't done right. The multicoloured narrative filled with stranger things than Lovecraft could ever conjure really added to the story. It even gets more immersive when the narrative is infused with unexpected meta elements. This simply felt like an all-around coherent tale that had a common thread to tie every issue together. Justice League: Volume 4 a bit too Justice League: Volume 4, but that's okay. The amount of fun I had was simply undeniable. Justice League: The Sixth Justice League: Volume 4 is a fabulously psychedelic yet poignantly intimate trip where heroes and villains are shaken to the core and tested beyond measure. I love me some Jarro, as well. Little guy's so cute. Javi Fernandez draws most of this, and I'm glad he's getting a bigger spotlight since he's great.
