[St. Petersburg, Florida January 8th 2020] - Tom “TBone” Hamilton is a professional bassist, vocalist, and producer, lo- cated on the west coast of Florida. For 3 decades TBone has been at the forefront of Blues, Jazz, and Americana music in the Tampa Bay area. This is his FIRST worldwide music video release, and it showcases the song “My Babe” from his 2019 Blues CD – TBone Hamilton & the Blues All Stars “A Tribute to Willie Dixon”. This is the fourth CD produced by Mr. Hamilton and his first one featuring the music of one of his blues heroes – Mr. Willie Dixon. TBone collaborated with bluesarchive.org founder, Mike Shivvers, to shoot, edit, and produce the video. Shot on loca- tion in St. Petersburg, Florida, the video includes cool spots such as: The Princess Martha Hotel, St. Petersburg’s Historic Open Air Post Office, Williams Park, Al Capone’s underground Tunnel, Snell Arcade, Crislip Arcade, Central Ave., The Vinoy Hotel, Brew D Licious Coffee Shop, Tropicana Field, Ferg’s, Billy's Corner Barber Shop and Vinoy Park. A special thanks to “My Babe”, Ms. Nancy Alexander, of “Seriously Silly,” for volunteering to appear in this video and also to Janet Stringfellow, CEO of Volunteers of America, for sharing Al Capone’s underground Tunnel. ABOUT TBone Hamilton Tom “TBone” Hamilton is a versatile musician who is comfortable with leading his own bands, or as sideman with many different national and international touring musicians. For over three decades TBone has honed his bass skills on both the electric and upright bass. The feel he has developed on the bass started in his youth and began to be recognized by the top Blues musicians of the Tampa Bay area. Serving up the low end to iconic blues groups such as: The Deacon Fuller Band, Rock Bottom and the Cutaways, and the Poulos Ramsey Band, TBone was an in-demand bassist. TBone recorded with Ronnie Earl on Rock Bottom’s Harmaniac CD. Also featured on the CD is Vidar Busk, the monster blues guitarist from Norway. Desiring to expand his playing and repertoire, TBone began to study and play Jazz. It was during this time frame that TBone led the “Swinging Johnsons”. As a bassist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer, the band recorded two CDs “Get A Life” and “Duck”. The band had a great run and eventually reconfigured to The Hamilton-Harris Project. TBone’s musical partner, Dan Harris, co-led this band and the partnership released a live Jazz Standards CD called “Live Matters”. After this time, TBone went to play in the duo and trio formats with notable guitarists and pianists. Eventually, the “TBone Hamilton Band” was born. The band is the backbone to his larger band, “TBone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue”. In addition to these bands, “TBone Hamilton & the Blues All Stars” is a band dedicated to the blues. “TBone Hamilton & the Blues All-Stars - A Tribute to Willie Dixon” was released in 2019 and is TBone’s 4th CD which fea- tures guests, Mitch Woods and TC Carr. As a sideman, TBone backs up piano boogie woogie man, Mitch Woods, and the Braille Blues Daddy, Bryan Lee, as well as national touring Jazz and Blues Acts. Not one to rest on his laurels, TBone is currently performing, producing music and is collaborating on new video music interviews and documentaries. Classic Antone's Poster Antone's posters and flyers feature Texas artists like Guy Juke, Sam Yeates, and most of all the wonderful work of Danny Garrett. Antone's has been a steady source for great music for decades. That history is reflected in the many fine posters and handbills for that venue, some of them stunning like this large handbill for John Lee Hooker.

Wander among the festival’s seven stages and you can listen to everything from authentic Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco music to Chicago and West Coast Blues, from Latin to Rockabilly and Swing. In recent years, Gator By the Bay has also earned a stand-out reputation for bringing together stellar combinations of musicians in innovative mash-up performances, presenting musical groupings you won’t hear anywhere else. This year is no exception. On Saturday, May 7, San Diego’s own multiple gold guitarist Johnny Vernazza will share the Mardi Gras Stage with blues greats Roy Rogers and John Németh. Often lauded as the “Master of the Slide Guitar”, Roy Rogers’ distinctive style is instantly recognizable. He’s shared duets with such greats as John Lee Hooker and Allen Toussaint, and teamed up with the likes of Norton Buffalo and Ray Manzarek. Harmonica virtuoso, vocalist and songwriter John Németh has multiple Blues Music Awards nominations to his name, and his album, ‘Memphis Grease’, won Best Soul Blues Album at the 2015 Blues Music Awards.     Bio Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters Please bill as Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters Ronnie Earl, Guitar Legendary Blues guitarist Ronnie Earl is a three time Blues Music Award winner as Guitar Player of the Year, most recently receiving the award on May 8, 2014 in Memphis. He has served as an Associate Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music, and has taught at the National Guitar summer workshop in Connecticut. In 1995 Ronnie released Ronnie Earl: Blues Guitar with Soul, an instructional VHS tape that was then rereleased in DVD format in 2005. Earl’s discography includes acclaimed albums on Stony Plain Records, Black Top, Bullseye Blues, Verve, and Telarc. His 1996 Bullseye Blues release, Grateful Heart: Blues and Ballads, won Downbeat Magazine’s Blues Album of the Year, and in 2004 Earl’s Hey José won the Best Blues/R&B Song at the 3rd Annual Independent Music Awards. In 2014, Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters celebrated 26 years as a band.     “I’m Your Hoochie Coochie Man”—Muddy Waters (1954) Added to the National Registry: 2004 Essay by Robert Gordon (guest post)* Muddy Waters Bluesman Muddy Waters was known for the power he conveyed in music: manliness, deep hurt and deep pride, sexuality. His themes were reinforced by his style: his songs hit hard, his vocals were declamatory, his band played like a swinging fist. Several of his songs could be considered his signature, and one of those is “Hoochie Coochie Man.” Odd that a man so full of machismo would be identified with two giggly pseudo words— “hoochie” and “coochie.” What do they mean anyway? Most likely they’re variants of the word “goochie” which was a southern slang term for vagina dating to the Reconstruction era. Muddy, with children by a variety of women, with female fans who’d throw underpants on stage, with a passion for sex—he was a hoochie coochie goochie man for sure. The song “Hoochie Coochie Man” was brought to Muddy in late 1953 by Willie Dixon, a bassist and songwriter who would, within a year, bring Muddy other songs that solidified his hoochie coochie image: “Just Make Love To Me,” “I'm Ready,” and “Natural Born Lover.” As a songwriter, Dixon untied, sorted, and repackaged songs, lyrics, toasts, children's games and an array of quips and boasts, putting his name on them and creating a catalog of his own. Then other, more dynamic singers made the songs into hits. He drew heavily from traditional sources, this boom-era of recording and mass distribution codifying what had been a loose and communal pool of melodies and lyrics.
