HOW TO USE THE BCS PRICEGUIDE TO FIND PRICES AND AVAILABILITY The BCS Priceguide is designed to be used in conjunction with the "factory" parts book for a particular year and model motorcycle. The original equipment manufacturer's part numbers can be referenced in the Priceguide to show price and availability as of publication date. Norton Part Numbers: Early Norton part numbers can appear in a variety of ways: E3135 becomes NME3135 and supersedes to 06-7584 T2166 becomes NMT2166 and supersedes to 06-3995 25060 becomes NM25060 and supersedes to 06-7903 (please note: the early Norton numbers are found in the front part of the Priceguide section as NME3135; NMT2166; NM25060; etc.) BSA Part Numbers: When consulting your BSA parts book, check carefully to be sure you have written the part numbers correctly. BSA part numbers are composed of two digits, a dash, and at least four digits following. Occasionally, there will be a six digit number followed by a slash mark and one, two or three digits. For example, BSA part numbers may be listed as: 67-0946 42-6528/88 97-3896/3 97-3795/177 However, some of the older BSA parts books may show the part numbers in an entirely different way. In all cases, BSA part numbers must be entered on your parts order with two digits, a dash, and at least four digits following. When you look up a BSA part number in a BSA part book, and it does not show two digits, a dash, and at least four digits, it will be necessary to convert to this form, to either enter the part number correctly on your parts order, or to assist you in looking up a price in the Priceguide section. To convert old part numbers, fill in the missing digits with zeros. 2-525 becomes 02-0525 (Only the last two digits before the dash are the 40-24 becomes 40-0024 start of the part number; some early parts books 67-949 becomes 67-0949 listed a price code first, which should be ignored.) Triumph Part Numbers: In 1973 Triumph introduced a numerical part numbering system which supercedes the old alpha-numeric system, in most cases. The old alpha-numeric numbers convert as follows: DXXXX becomes 60-XXXX HXXXX becomes 97-XXXX EXXXX (4 digits) becomes 70-XXXX SXXXX becomes 21-XXXX EXXXXX (5 digits) becomes 71-XXXX TXXXX becomes 57-XXXX FXXXX (4 digits) becomes 82-XXXX WXXXX becomes 37-XXXX FXXXXX (5 digits) becomes 83-XXXX Some exceptions to the above are listed in the Priceguide.     INTRODUCTION We hope you enjoy reading through our latest catalogue. We aim to provide restorers and historic vehicle enthusiasts with transfers and graphics to the highest attainable standard. Our background is mainly motor cycle orientated but over the years we have found that many motor cycle transfers were used on bicycles, and vice versa. If you are unable to find what you need always ask - we may be about to have the item printed. The majority of our stocks are the popular waterslide transfers but we also supply vinyl graphics where originally they were in that format. Low volume sellers are also supplied as vinyl graphics where a waterslide print run would be totally uneconomic. We use only best quality cast 10 year vinyl with a 'thinness' of 50 microns (2 thou inch). We are also able to offer white registration letters and numbers in four sizes, 1¾ inch and 2½ inch deep for motor cycles and 3 inch and 3½ inch for three wheelers and motor cars. See last page for further details. By far the majority of our artwork is produced by hand-drawing (as were the originals) and we resist the temptation to produce transfers using standard computer fonts, thus keeping the period look of the originals. We have tried to be as accurate as we can with the relevant location and year information in our listings, but your detailed knowledge of a particular model may well be greater than ours.     South of England Classic Motorcycle Show: Sunday 23rd October 2016 Page 1 of 25 South of England Classic Motorcycle Show: Draft Programme: Sunday 23rd October 2016 ________________________________________________________________________________________Year Make Model Club cc 1913 Zenith Gradua 90 Bore 996 Classes Entered:Pre 1950 VMCC (Surrey & Sussex) Bike Details: Built at Weybridge, Surrey, to the special order of Hal Hill, it lived on Monument Hill, Weybridge until 1953 when it was obtained by the present owner. Used by Hal Hill at Brooklands and many long-distance rallies before & after the First World War and last used by him in 1925. Fitted with the Gradua Gear, designed by Freddie Barnes in 1908 and fitted by Zenith until 1925. Zenith were barred from competing in the same classes as machines without variable gears, hence from 1910 the Zenith Trade Mark included the word BARRED. Capable of about 70 mph on the track, it's fitted with the JAP sidevalve engine, with 90mm bore x 77.5 stroke. It also has the large belt pulleys giving a variation from 3 to 1 in top gear, down to 6 to 1 in low gear. Rebuilt in 1964 and used by the current owner in VMCC events. _________________________________________________________________________________________ 1914 Rover Sturmey Archer 3 ½ Classes Entered:Pre 1950 Sunbeam MCC Bike Details: Found languishing in a garage, last used in 1972, as witnessed by an old tax disc. The type F was supplied with a 3½ HP engine as standard (85 x 88mm = 499cc) to comply with TT regulations.

    5. Men of Substance – 1 When we are young and in the prime of our youth our lives pass so fast that events come and go quickly like today’s daily News. No sooner one event passes, another leaps up to replace it. Only the more dramatic or the humorous for the most part will stick with us. I recently discovered and read an old magazine article written in March 1992 to commemorate the anniversary of the tragic loss of Mike Hailwood. It triggered in me an old memory that I thought I had completely forgotten with the passage of time. Back around 1964/5 I was a member of a UK motorcycle club called The Southend & District MCC. Although I never met them, Bill Ivy and Dave Bickers were also registered members of the same club in compliance with an official UK ACU racing license ruling at that time. The ACU (Auto Cycle Union) was similar to the US. AMA (American Motorcycle Association) in governing all forms of motorcycle sport. We were treated to many a fascinating Club Talk by some quite prominent people of the day such as Charles Mortimer Sr. and Wal Phillips, (a veteran cinder-track speedway rider who was one of the first to develop aftermarket fuel injectors for motorcycles in the UK.), to name but a couple. An Avon Tire representative once came and gave a full presentation on the then newly developing technology of 'Avon Cling' High Hysteresis Tire Compounds. Bert Greeves, founder and owner of Greeves Motorcycles, was also a highly prominent figure along with his long-time friend and business associate, Derry Preston-Cobb, who ran the Greeves subsidiary of Invacar, an independent invalid vehicle factory located next door to the main Greeves factory on One Tree Hill, in Thundersley, Essex.

It’s a fantastic moment in time and unlikely ever to be repeated. Can you imagine English Heritage letting nasty, oily motorcyclists, let alone their nastier, oilier bikes(!) anywhere near Stonehenge now? In the late 80's when I was Madame Chairman of the Stonehenge Section the committee decided it would be a good idea for local publicity to have a photo of the Section taken at the stones. The photo could be circulated to the local press and, as it happened, I had a good contact at the Salisbury Journal in the form of Roger Elliott their staff photographer. We, myself and the late Commander Francis Hay RN a committee member, approached the authorities to gain permission to assemble a group of members and their bikes behind the barriers but in front of the stones.
