61 1966 Honda CB160 Twin 160 1960-69 Lightweight Overseas Bike Details: I owned a brand new machine identical to this bike in 1966 which cost £239=10/6 pence new! This one has now cost me 15 times that price, quite rare and a great little bike. This machine was crudely restored back in 1998 onwards. Mechanically it was in very good condition but left a lot to be desired in the nut and bolt department. It was re-registered back 2001 due to loss of the logbook, the registration is Welsh. It's been fitted with quality indicators for safety, something very few bikes had in the 1960s. Over 3 weeks I have stripped it down to frame and engine, cleaned/polished all the chrome and paintwork. New front pipes were obtained from Bangkok for £14 pounds + shipping, great quality and cheaper than £700 wanted for new items that do not exist. The silencers are from a later model but fit nicely and sound correct. They're made by the British firm Brituro.

60 1966 Honda CL160 161 1960-69 Overseas Lightweight Bike Details: The CL160 was made for one year for the US market only. This example was a barn find in 2012 and shipped to the UK. Bought from an imported in 2014, it had been in a US junk yard and was in a bit of a mess to say the least! It was seized, fitted with Ape hanger bars, long forks, a 16" Harley rear wheel and straight-through slash cut pipes. Fortunately most of the correct parts for the K0 model were still on it, and the current owner has done all the work you can see, except for the chroming, plus a total engine refurb. First time at this show.

23 1970 Norton Commando 750 Ro 750 1970 On Bike Details: This bike is a USA version, brought back about five years ago. Later it is believed a further 4 were built, using the Trident 750cc engine. This bike was originally a 1970 T150T with 4-speed gearbox, in very poor condition with a cracked timing cover etc. The engine was totally rebuilt using new & improved parts such as billet con- rods, Boyer race ignition, Norman Hyde uprated oil pump, racing valve-springs etc. The gearbox has a 5-speed cluster & it's planned to replace the clutch with an air-cooled unit. The paint finish & decals are all based on the original Paul Smart bike, Paul had a lot of success on the Rob North triple & campaigned them after Triumph fell into decline.

This is a US-spec 1972 K4 imported in 2015 and has an age related plate. It has had a paint job and a few bits replaced. Compared with my CB72, it benefits from a 5 speed gear box and indicators.... The bike has just been upgraded and fitted with a Mick Hemmings built engine with big valve head, HC pistons and PW3 camshaft and it has a 5-speed Mick Hemmings/Quaife gearbox. The original works bikes had the engine raised and moved over by about 3/8" to gain extra ground clearance but as this bike is being used on the road this was not considered to be necessary.

19 1973 Kawasaki Z1 908 1970 On Overseas Bike Details: This is one of only 35 that were officially imported into the UK before the Z1A arrived. I took the original owner on the back of my CB750 to pick this bike up from Read Titan, Leytonstone in August 1973. I eventually bought it from him in 1978 for £500. It had not been well looked after and ran very badly. It was parked at the back of my garage and a full nut and bolt restoration commenced in 2001.
