2019 BAD BOY MOWERS BATTLE 4 ATLANTIS MEN’S BASKETBALL MATCHUPS ANNOUNCED Atlantis, Paradise Island’s annual, Division I early-season college basketball tournament will take place November 27-29, 2019 PARADISE ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS (July 11, 2019) - Atlantis, Paradise Island, the lush, oceanside resort in The Bahamas, is proud to announce the matchups for the highly-anticipated 2019 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament which will begin on Wednesday, Nov 27. The 2019 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament dates fall over the United States Thanksgiving holiday week (November 27 - 29). The 12-game tournament, which is in its ninth season, is known to be one of the most challenging early-season men’s college basketball tournaments. Eight top-tier NCAA teams make up this year’s impressive field, including North Carolina, Oregon, Michigan, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Seton Hall, Alabama and Southern Miss. Combined, this year’s field boasts more than 30 Final Four appearances and eight National Championships. The three-day tournament begins November 27, with the following opening day matchups: Game 1: Michigan vs. Iowa State (12:00pm EST) Game 2: North Carolina vs. Alabama (2:30pm EST) Game 3: Gonzaga vs. Southern Miss. (7:00pm EST) Game 4: Seton Hall vs. Oregon (9:30pm EST) All 12 games will be played in Atlantis, Paradise Island’s Imperial Arena, the majestic and spacious 3,900-seat venue. THOMPSON SIGNS FIRST PRO CONTRACT IN THE NETHERLANDS BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Former WKU Basketball guard Darius Thompson has inked his first professional contract, signing with Zorg en Zekerheid Basketball Leiden in the Netherlands. ZZ Leiden competes in the Dutch Basketball League. The team has won the national championship three times, the NBB Cup twice and the Dutch Basketball Supercup twice. Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Murfreesboro, Tenn., joined the Hilltoppers for the 2017-18 season as a graduate transfer from Virginia. He left his mark on the program in just one year, starting all 38 games, averaging 35.6 minutes per contest and earning a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team. Thompson averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds for WKU, while netting a team- high 54 made 3-pointers. -
