Alexander, M.A. Morehead State University, 20 I 0 .m-ofTh••• ~ {)Jr~lrr A woman is more than just her body, more than just her own heart and soul. She is the culmination of her experiences, she is her parents and siblings, her former lovers, her husband and children. A woman can be known, but not truly understood, until one gets to know the parts that make her. Like this collection of short stories, a woman is the product of years of work, love, labor, and many others who contribute to who she is and who she wants to be. She is strong and determined in the face of the dangers that stand before her. These stories tell the story of one woman through her childhood, her experiences, her lovers, her husband, and her child. All the characters in this collection are inspired by someone specific, except for our main character. She is the woman I imagine we all are at some point in our lives: at times a fool, at times wise, confused, in love, happy sad, seeking happiness and peace with her present and her past.
