ately the Bonaire L Animal Shelter has rescued lots of dogs that were turned out or left behind when the owners moved to another place. Some were even left on a chain. Last week the Shelter had some dogs that had their necks deeply cut where the chain sliced into them. Those dogs are usually not very friendly because they were mistreated and are afraid of people. We need to stop this terrible “trend.” The dog in the photo dog was picked up a few days ago. We took her to the vet where her wounds were treated. Now she's in the Shelter where she gets lots of TLC. We even found a new owner for this dog. When she's fit to go, she has a new name, Fay, and a new home!  Story & photos by Marlies Tiepel
