1. ABIDE IN THE VINE

We are a reflection of who we spend our time with. Can people see that you are closer to the Lord or to the world?

DO: ● GO TO CHURCH ○ If you don’t have a church you call home, we would love for you to join us at a service! Where: Road to Life Church, St Joseph When: Every Sunday at 8:30AM, 10AM or 11:30AM ● TEXT SOMEONE WHO HAS HELPED YOU WITH YOUR FAITH ○ Text someone who has helped you grow in your relationship with the Lord, and compliment them or show them appreciation for helping you in your walk of faith. ● REEVALUATE FRIENDSHIPS ○ The truth is - you become like the people that you spend the most time with. Sometimes we know that we shouldn’t hang out with certain people but we do anyway. It can be difficult to feel like you are leaving friends behind, but remember, YOU decide how your life is going to be, and if you want it full of freedom in Jesus, there will be times where stepping away from relationships will be the healthiest thing you can do!

READ: John 15:1-5 (TLV) “I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He trims so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I will abide in you. The branch cannot itself produce fruit, unless it abides on the vine. Likewise, you cannot produce fruit unless you abide in Me. Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

LISTEN: NOTHING WITHOUT YOU - WILL REAGAN

JOURNAL: Who do you spend the most time around? Friends, family, Jesus? What kind of people are you surrounding yourself with?

DECLARE: I choose to abide in Jesus. I will not surround myself with people who hinder my relationship with the Father, by pulling me further away from Him. I will spend intentional time with Jesus because I know that the closer I am to Him, the more I become like Him and the more I can live in His freedom.

2. LOVE

DO: ● PAY FOR A STRANGERS FOOD / GROCERIES ○ It doesn’t have to be much, but sometimes the SMALLEST acts of kindness show the GREATEST acts of love.

● ENCOURAGE SOMEONE ○ Text something encouraging to someone that it is difficult for you to get along with. Jesus didn’t come to love those that thought like Him or looked like Him, He came to love everyone, knowing they may never love Him back.

● LISTEN TO LEARN, NOT TO RESPOND ○ Listen to the people of color around you that have been mistreated and misheard. Don’t listen to respond or defend what you believe to be true. Listen with a heart of compassion. The Father’s heart breaks over racial injustice, and we have been given voices to fight against it. Love your neighbor in this way.

READ: “Those who are loved by God, let his love continually pour from you to one another, because God is love. Everyone who loves is fathered by God and experiences an intimate knowledge of him. The one who doesn’t love has yet to know God, for God is love. The light of God’s love shined within us when he sent his matchless Son into the world so that we might live through him. This is love: He loved us long before we loved him. It was his love, not ours. He proved it by sending his Son to be the pleasing sacrificial offering to take away our sins.” 1 John 4: 7-10 (TPT)

LISTEN: FOR THE TIME WE HAVE - COMMON HYMNAL

JOURNAL: Write down at least one person’s name that you want to intentionally love well this week, along with what you are going to do, to show them the love of Jesus.

DECLARE: I am chosen and loved by God. God is patient with me. God is gentle and kind to me. God does not cover me in shame or disrespect. He is not easily irritated with me or quick to take offense when I sin against Him. God joyfully celebrates my honesty and He finds no delight in what is wrong. God is MY safe place of shelter. He never stops believing the best of me. God never takes my failure as defeat, for He never gives up.

3. JOY Happiness is temporary. Joy that comes from the Lord never ends.

DO: ● SPEND TIME WITH JESUS ○ In His presence there is fullness of joy, so turn on a worship song, clear your mind, and take a few moments to focus on Him. ● TAKE YOUR FEELINGS BACK ○ When your happiness is based off of your situation it will always come and go. But if we want to truly have joy that never leaves, we can’t allow our natural feelings to control us because they do not last. When we are constantly in the Presence or with the Father we are choosing joy over the circumstance because we find our fullness and identity in Him and not what we are going through. ● EMBRACE YOUR GIFTS + PASSIONS ○ We were all given unique gifts and skills when God created us. Those things can be used for Jesus, or they can be used to impress society and glorify yourself. Our passions and gifts were given to us to bring God glory and praise. Whether it is music, sports, art, speaking, technology or anything in between, it can be used to thank God for all He has done. He wants you to LOVE what you do, and when it is done with Him, there is when we find joy and confidence that lasts.

READ: Psalm 16:11 (NASB) “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

Psalm 118:24 (NASB) “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

LISTEN: S INCE YOUR LOVE - UNITED PURSUIT, BRANDON HAMPTON

JOURNAL: Think about the things you are passionate about and love to do. How can you use these things to bring honor and praise to God?

(Ex: If you are passionate about art (in any form) it can be used to represent the things that Jesus has done in your life and the things you are asking Him to do. It can be pointed back to Him without even saying a word.)

DECLARE: My situations will not control my reactions and my feelings. I have been given a Spirit of Joy, so no matter what I go through, I can have hope, anticipation and excitement!

My joy will be more than just moments of happiness and my contentment with life will not come and go with the different seasons of life. I know that I can have joy DAILY, because that is what my Lord died for. I am blessed. I am seen. I am loved, and I can find joy in that.

4. PEACE

DO: ● PEACEMAKER VS. PEACEKEEPER ○ “A peacekeeper avoids confrontation at all costs to maintain peace, even at the risk of compromising truth. But the peace he maintains is not true peace. It is a touchy, superficial peace that will not last. A peacemaker will go in love and confront, bringing truth so that the resulting reconciliation will endure. He will not maintain an artificial, superficial relationship. He desires openness, truth and love. He refuses to hide offense with a political smile. He makes peace with a bold love that cannot fail.” - The Bait of Satan, John Bevere ● PRAY ○ When we have anxious thoughts, the best thing we can do is pray and give those things to God. God loves us and wants to hear how we are feeling! Of course, he already knows how we feel, but taking that extra step to include him in how you're feeling allows him to fill you with the peace that you desire.

READ: Philippians 4:6-7 (TPT) “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends all understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.”

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

LISTEN: N O ONE EVER CARED FOR ME LIKE JESUS -

JOURNAL: List all of the things that you are fearful or anxious about. Then, write out a prayer to God, telling Him that you surrender all of it to Him, so you can have room for His peace.

DECLARE: I will choose peace over anxiety, stress, and worry. I know that the Father is the Prince of Peace and therefore I have peace through him. I will not be controlled by the anxiousness of the world but will instead be present in peace with Jesus.

5. PATIENCE

DO: ● SIT QUIETLY WITH GOD ○ Take some time out of your day to turn on a worship song. While in this moment with the Father pray and ask him to speak to you. Take a deep breath and WAIT. It may feel like forever, but really sit there and be patient in His presence. When your mind gets distracted take a second to refocus on why you're there. The Lord wants to speak to you! He values you. He sees you. Any time spent in his presence is worth it. ● PRACTICE PERSPECTIVE ○ When we think about things from others point of view it helps us to have a deeper level of patience, understanding, and grace towards them! For example, I’m sure we’ve all waited in a drive thru line that was taking a little longer than normal. The easy thing to do is to be annoyed, angry, or upset that you’re not getting your food when you expected to get it. In this situation, you can choose to see the perspective of the worker providing for you - maybe they are short staffed that day, maybe they really are working their hardest, or maybe they’re just truly going slow. Either way, we can choose to have patience with those people and show them love rather than treating them with an impatient attitude. Looking at these perspectives helps us to remember how God looks at us, choose to treat yourself and others with the same patience that God has for you. READ: Romans 12:12 (NLT) “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.”

LISTEN: W HILE I’M WAITING -

JOURNAL: Think about a situation where you were lacking patience. Write out how you reacted to it and then write out how you think Jesus would respond to the situation.

DECLARE: I declare that I will be a man/woman that is known for being patient. When the world around me is fast paced I will be still in the Lord. When the world around me wants things instantaneously I will be content in waiting for my promises to pass in the Lord’s timing. I choose to live a life of patience, allowing me to live fully in the moments I have been placed in, trusting that God has a purpose for me there.

6. KINDNESS

DO: ● WRITE A NOTE ○ Write a loved one a little note, it can be what you love about them, think about them or just thanking them for being who they are! This is a very quick and easy way to show kindness! ● TREAT OTHERS THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE TREATED ○ Say “hi” or “goodmorning” to a stranger in passing. Smile at them! You can brighten someone's entire day just by acknowledging them and making them feel seen. ○ Intentionally compliment people, go deeper than just complimenting their appearance, compliment their character and speak life to them! ○ Show those around you grace. Don’t point out every mistake or imperfection, sometimes the very thing someone needs to turn their day around is a little kindness and compassion. READ: Proverbs 16:24 (NLT) “Kind words are like honey -- sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”

LISTEN: K ING OF MY HEART - STEFFANY GRETZINGER

JOURNAL: What is the kindest thing someone has ever done for you or said to you?

DECLARE: I will not let my circumstances or situations influence how I treat others. Because God has shown me kindness I will walk out in the example he has set for me. I will remain treating people with kindness even when I don’t feel like it.

7. GOODNESS

Goodness is first about the condition of our heart, which then leads to outward actions of good deeds. Unkindness is the opposite of kindness, while evil is the opposite of goodness.

How do we have a good heart? We pursue a relationship with the One who is goodness Himself (Matthew 19:17)

DO: ● REMIND YOURSELF OF THE ○ God NEVER changes! It is important to constantly remind ourselves of this fact. Our world is ever changing, and our hearts and souls cry out for something secure and stable, and that is what God is. ● VOLUNTEER ○ Volunteering involves selflessness, humility and honesty. Some people do things to look good, but the point of living like Jesus isn’t just to look okay, but to truly BE like Him.

READ: Psalm 100:5 (TPT) “For the Lord is always good and ready to receive you. He’s so loving that it will amaze you -- so kind that it will astound you! And he is his faithfulness toward all. Everyone knows our God can be trusted, for he keeps his promises to every generation!”

LISTEN: K ING OF KINGS - UPPERROOM

JOURNAL: Write a letter to God, thanking Him for His goodness.

DECLARE: I don’t want to just do good so I can say I did it, but I decide right now that everything I do will come from a place of love for the Father. I lay down my own desires, so I can live a life of goodness and selflessness for others, revealing to them what Jesus looks like. I am blessed and I have been given great opportunities to show the world what the character of Jesus is.

8. FAITHFULNESS

As Christians, it is important to steward, or take care of, God’s creations and the things we have been blessed with. He created us and He faithfully cares for us, and we are called to do the same. Being faithful also means that we are devoted, loyal and steadfast in our pursuit of being like Jesus, and loving Him.

DO: ● PICK UP TRASH ○ It can be really easy to walk by trash at the beach or in a parking lot, but to have a faithful heart means that you want to help take care of the things that God has given you. It seems so small, but to God, the small acts of obedience, add up to big blessings. ● ALWAYS GO BACK TO JESUS ○ Sometimes we only go to God when we feel the need to blame Him for something bad happening, or question His goodness or thank Him every once in a while. But faithfulness means going to God for everything! The good, the bad, the uncertain. He wants to see your love and trust in Him.

READ: Lamentations 3: 22-23 (NLT) “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”

LISTEN: N EVER LOST - ALL NATIONS WORSHIP ASSEMBLY ATLANTA

JOURNAL: Do you struggle going back to Jesus every day? If so, why?

(Ex: too busy, hard to talk to someone you can’t see, you don’t think about it)

DECLARE: I choose Jesus everyday, not just the days where it is easy to blame Him for the bad or easy to thank Him for the good. On the bad days, I will cry out to Him, and still thank Him for His goodness and faithfulness. On the good days, I will praise God for the blessings and good that He has poured over me!

9. GENTLENESS

DO: ● RESPOND WITH GENTLENESS ○ The next time any person treats you with harshness, violence and disrespect, respond with kindness and patience. It truly takes a lot of strength and confidence to be gentle. It is easy to respond to negativity, pain and rudeness with those things in return. But loving words, turning your cheek and staying true to the character of God is what we are called to do. It doesn’t always make sense, and it takes a lot of humility to step back and fight the fire with gentleness but the Lord will see it, and bless you. ● BE COMPASSIONATE ○ Everyone around you has experienced things that you may never see, understand or know about, and sometimes in response, their actions seem so unexplainable. In these moments of frustration you have been given a great opportunity to respond out of gentleness by putting yourself in the position to understand their perspective and their pain. Compassion and gentleness go hand in hand.

READ: Matthew 11:29 (TPT) “Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me.”

LISTEN: P IECES (SPONTANEOUS) - ,

JOURNAL: What is something that really irritates you? Why does it irritate you? How are you going to respond out of gentleness to this action instead of bitterness and annoyance?

DECLARE: When I FEEL like being harsh, I will CHOOSE gentleness. I know that God is a gentle God and He has shown me gentleness when I deserve to be treated harshly. When I have conflict with others I will walk humbly by putting their needs and their desires before mine.

10. SELF-CONTROL

DO: ● IDENTIFY AREAS OF YOUR LIFE THAT YOU NEED TO CONTROL ○ The first step to learning how to have self-control is identifying the areas where you lack control in your life. If you can’t think of the areas right away, spend some time with Jesus asking him to reveal the areas of your life that you need to work on. ● MAKE AN ACTION PLAN ○ After figuring out the areas of your life that you need to have more control in, set up a plan that helps you to remain in control! For example, if you struggle with alcohol be intentional about where and who you’re spending your time around. If you hang out with people that drink, don’t hang out with them! If you tend to go to parties, try staying home or doing something else. Tell a close friend that you're struggling and ask them to hold you accountable and check in on you. Spend some time figuring out what triggers you to want to drink and make specific steps to avoid those things and work on how they affect you. Remember, no one is perfect, you won’t be perfect in this journey towards self control and that's okay! As long as you're making an honest effort to change yourself the Lord will honor that.

READ: Galatians 5:16-17 (NLT) “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 (NLT) “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”

LISTEN: H OW AMAZING - JESUS CULTURE

JOURNAL: W rite out each area of your life that you need to surrender to God in order to gain back control over it. Write the steps you plan on taking to help you succeed in having self-control over these areas.

DECLARE: I know that God has given me a spirit of self-control! I surrender every area of my life to him and am ready with an open heart to change my ways. I will be proactive in situations where I am tempted and will choose to follow the plan that I made and change it along the way

as I become stronger in those areas of my life. I know that my weakness is his strength so I will trust and listen to what he is speaking to me.

11. REPENTANCE

DO: ● REPENT ○ Identifying the sin in your life is the first step towards freedom! Repentance goes a little further than forgiveness. To repent means to turn away from something and turn towards God instead! Take a moment to pray and ask God for forgiveness and ask him to help you turn from that sin! ○ Example: I repent of insecurity. ● RECEIVE ○ Jesus died so that you could receive forgiveness! This very freedom that you desire and need He gave his life for. He loves you, values you, and wants you to know that you have worth. No sin is too big for him to forgive. ○ Example: I receive your forgiveness and grace. ● REBUKE ○ Rebuke means to take away power from the devil, telling him that his plan and sin is not welcomed in your life, heart, mind or soul. ○ Example: I rebuke Satan's lies that I am not enough. I rebuke any control he has over my confidence. ● REPLACE ○ Replace the sin in your life with God’s love for you! His love covers a multitude of sin. Replace the sin in your life with action against that sin. ○ Example: I replace insecurity with God’s confidence. I can be confident knowing that I was created just the way I am for a reason and chosen for a purpose. READ: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NLT) “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

1 John 1:8-9 (TPT) “But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth.”

LISTEN: P RAISE BEFORE MY BREAKTHROUGH - BRYAN AND KATIE TORWALT

JOURNAL:

Write out the 4 “R’S” (REPENT, RECEIVE, REBUKE, REPLACE) on a sheet of paper, respond to them with your personal answers. (Ex: I repent of ____. I know that ____ is not from God, and I am sorry that I let that sin into my life. I receive God’s forgiveness. I rebuke the temptation to sin in this way, and I rebuke the enemies control over my life in this area. I replace ______with ______)

DECLARE: I have released all of my sin and shame into the Father’s hands. I refuse to have a strong hold over the things of this world. I choose to live for Jesus. Jesus, remind me every day of the things I need to repent and turn away from. I will replace my sin, with the promises and character of God.

12. FORGIVENESS

DO: ● FORGIVE YOURSELF ○ Before you try to forgive others, make sure you have forgiven yourself. This is a lot easier to do when you have repented of your sins, and have allowed God’s goodness to replace your faults. You aren’t perfect, and never can be, which is good because God never expected us to be. Jesus was and is the only perfect person to ever walk this earth. So take it easy on yourself, and forgive yourself for the things you wish you could change. ● FORGIVE OTHERS ○ Just as you are not perfect, no one else can be either. Satan LOVES when God’s children are filled with unforgiveness towards others because it keeps us away from the fullness of Jesus and His promises, as well as creating disunity. To be able to forgive others, it is helpful to see them the way Jesus sees them, out of eyes of love, choosing to see the best in them. ● RECEIVE FORGIVENESS ○ After you repent you need to accept that you are forgiven! God has not called us to live in the shame of our sin. Jesus died on the cross to show that we are forgiven! That freedom is ours, we just have to receive it and believe it in our hearts and minds. As soon as we repent, our sin against God is gone from His mind and never thought of again.

READ: Colossians 3:13 (TPT) “Tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. If you find fault with someone, release this same gift of forgiveness to them.”

LISTEN: N OTHING I HOLD ONTO - UNITED PURSUIT

JOURNAL: Write out what you need to forgive yourself, and others from.

DECLARE: I will not hold onto my past. I will not hold onto things that I have done or things that others have done to me. I forgive myself and I forgive the people that have hurt me. I will not allow these things to consume me any longer and I chose to release each thing to God.

13. GRATITUDE

DO: ● GIVE THANKS!! ○ This week, start EVERY day with giving thanks to God. No matter how your week is going, find something to be thankful for each morning and express your appreciation to the Father.

READ: Psalm 100 (NLT) “Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and his faithfulness continues to each generation.”

LISTEN: Y OU AND YOU ALONE - UPPERROOM

JOURNAL: List 10 things you are grateful for!

DECLARE: I will choose to have gratitude in all situations because it is God’s will for me. No matter what I go through, I will give thanks to God.

14. COURAGE AND BOLDNESS

DO: ● SHARE THE GOSPEL ○ Share the gospel (what Jesus did for us, repentance, forgiveness) with ONE person this week. It can be a friend, co-worker, classmate, family member or stranger! We are not here to live only for ourselves, but to share the good news with others around us, hoping they come to know a life of freedom in Jesus! ● FIGHT AGAINST RACISM ○ Being anti-racist is very important, and it really takes a lot of courage and boldness. First, it takes courage to lay down your own thoughts and ideas, humbling yourself to understand where someone else comes from. And then it takes so much boldness to speak out what you have learned. Racism goes against the love that we are commanded to show, and we are to BOLDLY stand in the character of Jesus and stand against the things that stand against Him.

READ: Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”

LISTEN: P ROPHESY YOUR PROMISE - BRYAN & KATIE TORWALT

JOURNAL: What does courage look like to you? How are you going to stand out in courage and boldness on Jesus’ behalf this week?

DECLARE: I am strong and bold in the Lord. I do not have to fear what the people around me think or do because I trust in Him. I will boldly proclaim the gospel so others can come to know Jesus. I will stand against racism. I will stand against sin. I will be strong in my prayer life, and never stop praying even after I see the breakthrough.

15. GUARD YOUR HEART

DO: ● FILL UP WITH GOOD THINGS ○ To practice goodness in your life think about what you are filling your heart with. Next time you are going to listen to music or watch a movie ask yourself if it is good and pleasing to God. Are the lyrics of that music or the things you are watching in that movie filling your heart and mind with good things or with negative things? If it isn’t good, simply don’t put it in your heart and mind, because the things our heart is filled with, will overflow out of us into every part of our lives.

READ: Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Psalm 19:14 “So may the words of my mouth, my meditation-thoughts, and every movement of my heart be always pure and pleasing, acceptab;e before your eyes, my only Redeemer, my Protector-God.”

LISTEN: H AVE MY HEART -

JOURNAL: Are there any things that you think you should start to guard your heart from that you didn’t realize before?

DECLARE: I will no longer allow evil things into my heart and mind. I will fill myself with good music, movies, and books rather than ones that can be damaging to my spirit. I will practice different ways to avoid and cut out the evil things that I allow to influence me and replace them with things that are good.

16. SERVANTHOOD

DO: ● SERVE AT CHURCH ○ Get involved! One of the most important things that Jesus stressed we should do is serve. Jesus spent his entire life serving others, if the greatest man to ever live served others, we certainly should too. There are plenty of ways you can serve at your church. Connect with others to know what team would fit you! ● DO THE DISHES ○ Maybe the opportunity to serve looks like joyfully doing the dishes without being asked, or doing the “low” jobs at work and home that no one else wants to do!

READ: Mark 20:28 (TPT) “But this is not your calling. You will lead by a completely different model. The greatest among you will live as the one who is called to serve others, because the greatest honor and authority is reserved for the one with the heart of a servant. For even the Son of Man (Jesus) did not come expecting to be served by everyone, but to serve everyone, and to give his life in exchange for the salvation of many.”

LISTEN: TOUCH OF HEAVEN - HILLSONG WORSHIP

JOURNAL: How will you serve someone this week?

DECLARE: I am not greater or higher than anyone else. I will be known as a servant, someone who chooses the tasks and jobs that no one else wants to do. I am blessed, and I find it my greatest joy and privilege to be able to serve others. Jesus was, and is the greatest servant, and I choose to be like Him in this way.

17. WHO HE IS

DO: ● PRACTICE WHO HE IS ○ Every day focus on a different characteristic of Jesus you want to work on. (comforter, love, giver, provider, hope, joy, and strength)

READ: Comforter - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (TPT) Love - 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (TPT) Giver - John 3:16 (TPT) Provider - Philippians 4:19 (TPT) Hope - Romans 15:13 (ESV) Joy - Psalm 16:11 (ESV) Strength - Psalm 73:26 (NLT)

LISTEN: S HEPHERD - UPPERROOM

JOURNAL: Write out the days of the week then next to each one write out which characteristic you will work on that day.

DECLARE: I want to know who Jesus is, so that I can live to become that too. I desire to be a comforter, full of love, a giver, a provider, hope for the broken, joy for the mourning, and strength for the weak.

18.WHAT HE SAYS ABOUT HIS CHILDREN

DO: ● DECLARE THE “I AM’S” DAILY ○ I am chosen ○ I am made new ○ I am one with Him ● READ HIS WORD ○ There is so much insecurity and uncertainty when we place the power of our identity in the world’s hands, but when it is placed into the hands of the one who CREATED us, there is stability, confidence, and freedom.

READ: Genesis 1:27 (ESV) John 3:16 (TPT) Romans 6:6 (ESV) 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) Romans 8:39 Psalm 139:4 (ESV)

LISTEN: W HO YOU SAY I AM - HILLSONG WORSHIP

JOURNAL: Write down the “I am’s” on a piece of paper or a sticky note, and read them outloud to yourself daily.

DECLARE: I was created for a purpose. I was created for a relationship with Jesus. I am chosen. I am made new. I am one with Him. I am beautiful and wonderful in His eyes. My life has value and reason. The world does not define me, His word over me is greater than what society labels me.

19. GIVING

DO: ● TITHE ○ We are called to tithe (give 10%) the FIRST of what we make. Tithing is an act of obedience that teaches us to be good stewards of what God has given us. For some people, this will look like $100 given to their church, and others it may be $1. It is not the amount behind the giving, but the HEART behind it. But to live for Jesus and like Jesus, giving is a big part of that. ● OFFERING ○ An offering is anything given beyond your tithe, but not in the place of it. Offering can look like money but it can also be time, talents, resources, help and friendship. Giving this way is also important because it helps to truly cultivate a character of love, servanthood and hope.

READ: Proverbs 3:9-10 “Glorify God with all your wealth, honoring Him with your very best, with every increase that comes to you. Then every dimension of your life will overflow with blessings from an uncontainable source of inner joy!”

LISTEN: E MPTY GRAVE - JUBILEE WORSHIP

JOURNAL: What do you need to give God more of? (Ex: Fear? Money? Time? Talents? Etc.)

DECLARE: My money and my talents and my time do not define me. I owe all I have to the Lord, and I will live the rest of my life praising Him with the money and things I have been given, giving it all back to Him. The love of money will not control me, and I will not depend on it.

20. DISCIPLESHIP

DO: ● BE DISCIPLED ○ Humble yourself! Ask for wisdom from someone you know lives by the Word of God. Seek out guidance from other mature believers about relationships, finances, brokenness, and everything else in between! ● DISCIPLE SOMEONE ○ Guide someone who may be lost, into freedom through the character of Jesus and the actions of Jesus. You don’t have to know it all or have all the answers, but bringing it all back to the Bible is something that a lot of people need.

READ: Acts 2:44-47 “All the believers were in fellowship as one body, and they shared with one another whatever they had. Out of generosity they even sold their assets to distribute the proceeds to those who were in need among them. Daily they met together in the temple courts and in one another’s homes to celebrate communion. They shared meals together with joyful hearts and tender humility. They were continually filled with praises to God, enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord kept adding to their number daily those who were coming to life.”

LISTEN: C LOSER - MAVERICK CITY MUSIC

JOURNAL: Write down one area you would like to grow in spiritually (finances, relationships, serving) And then write down one area you would like to help a friend or family member grow closer to Jesus through!

DECLARE: When I feel like being passive in my pursuit of discipling others and being discipled I will press into Him even more. I will surround myself with people who push me closer to living like Jesus, and I will stand strong, being the person to push others closer to Him when I am around people that don’t live for Him.

21. DWELLING

DO: ● GO TO A QUIET PLACE ○ The next time you struggle with something, someone breaks your trust, or you make a mistake, go to a quiet place, open up your Bible and spend some time with Jesus. Remind yourself that He is the greatest dwelling place. ● PUT GOD IN CONTROL ○ We can lay bad situations down at His feet, and in turn receive rest and peace of mind due to our trust in Him, that He will bring any experience to fullness, and every lie about us to truth. ● DON’T LIVE IN IT, LEARN FROM IT ○ When we look at something with the intent to truly learn from it, then we will have more freedom to move forward ● REMIND YOURSELF THAT YOU HAVE POWER! ○ We cannot fight our battles on our own. Dwell in what Jesus says and has for you..not what the world says about you.

READ: John 15:4 (TPT) “So you must remain in life-union with me, for I remain in life-union with you. For as a branch severed from the vine will not bear fruit, so your life will be fruitless unless you live your life intimately joined to mine.”

LISTEN: H E HAS TIME - COMMON HYMNAL, JAMIE MACDONALD

JOURNAL: Are you dwelling on things from the past? What can you learn from those things?

DECLARE: The things I have gone through and the things that have happened to me will not define me or guide me. I lay my past down, to make more room for the Holy Spirit to live and dwell in me.

22. WORSHIP

DO: ● WORSHIP WITH MUSIC ○ Songs of praise and worship touch the heart of the Father! ● WORSHIP BY DOING ○ Show complete devotion to Him in all you do. Next time you’re at work or in school, do everything to your greatest ability. If you live as if every moment and every job is for Him, it is evident that He is your biggest priority. Give Him all the glory, in all you do!

READ: Psalm 150:2 “Praise Him for His miracles of might! Praise Him for His magnificent greatness!”

Romans 12:1-2 “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? I encourage you to surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights His heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.”

LISTEN: M OST BEAUTIFUL / SO IN LOVE - MAVERICK CITY MUSIC

JOURNAL: How can you personally worship the Lord with what you do everyday?

DECLARE: My work, my passions, my words and all I am will be a vessel of worship to the Father.

23. PRAYER

DO: ● PAUSE ○ When you pause it allows God to work ahead of you ○ Life can move so fast if we allow it to! Slow down, pause, take a breath. Set aside ten minutes out of your day to sit in the presence of God and slow down. Put on a worship song to help prepare your heart and mind for prayer. ● REALIGN ○ To realign means to change or restore to a different state. During prayer this can look like reassessing your values, actions, and thoughts, and heart posture. God’s timing and perspective vs. ours. ○ Spend some time in the Bible, the more time we spend reading His word, the more we know who he is and become a demonstration of His values. ○ Give thanks! Start prayer off with giving thanks to God for all he has done! Feel free to be specific and intimate with Him in this time of thankfulness. Give him praise! Sometimes, it can be easy to feel like there’s nothing to be thankful for, but when we start listing the little things we realize we actually do have a lot to be grateful for! Start out by thanking God for waking you up this morning, thank him for your bed, thank him for the sun, and thank him for your family! When we have a heart posture of thankfulness it’s easy for us to reset and realign our hearts with his. ● ASK ○ Repent! Refer back to point 11 “REPENTANCE” for a reminder on what it means to repent, and if you’re not abiding you shouldn’t be asking. ○ Intercede! To intercede is to intervene on behalf of another person. This means to pray for others to God! Pray for your family, friends, coworkers, classmates, etc. This can include praying and asking for salvation, healing, and blessing over them. Make it personal to that person's needs! ○ Request! To request is to ask for prayer. We all have needs in our lives! Take some time to practice humility by sharing your needs with your Creator. He values you and cares about what you’re going through. He is faithful to help us in our time of need! If you don’t feel like you need prayer for anything ask the Lord to reveal some areas of your life where you need him more. ● YIELD ○ To yield means to surrender! Yielding is allowing God to see if we truly will not withhold anything from Him. ○ God created us for relationship and love with Him. By surrendering, we are choosing to submit to his authority and be obedient to him. Surrendering to Him is giving Him space to move and speak into our lives, replacing our earthly desires with his heavenly desires.

READ: 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

1 John 5:14-15 “Since we have this confidence, we can also have great boldness before Him, for if we ask anything agreeable to His will, He will hear us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we also know that we have obtained the requests we ask of Him.”

LISTEN: Y OU SATISFY - UPPERROOM MUSIC, ELYSSA SMITH

JOURNAL: Identify the things that distract you from spending quality time with Jesus. What can you do to intentionally spend time with the Father with no distractions?

DECLARE: I will pause and spend intentional time in the Father's presence. When I pray to God I will not withhold thanksgiving but instead shower him with praise! When I repent, I will do so with my whole heart, I won’t hide from God but will boldly and humbly confess my sins to him. Even when I don’t have the words, I will intentionally pray for others. I will surrender to God and won’t shy away from who he created me to be. I choose to replace my desires with his desires for my life.

24. READING HIS WORD

DO: ● GET A BIBLE ○ If you don’t have a Bible, contact us (HS or MS) on instagram @renegaid_ or (college / young adult) @thirsties_ on instagram, and we’d be glad to send you one for free! ○ If you prefer your phone, you can download the “Bible” app for free! ● PLAN A TIME + ROUTINE ○ This is not to make it super legalistic but to help create space and time for it. Making a set time helps bring structure and more life to it, by removing excuses! Sometimes if there isn’t a set schedule it can be hard to fit little things in or difficult for it to feel like a priority! Even if it’s 5 mins a day, or an hour every two days, everyone is different! Have fun finding what fits you best! ● REFLECT ○ There really is no point in reading the Bible with no intention to grow or learn from it. God doesn’t want us to read His word just so we can all be robots or cookie cutter christians. He wants us to read it because there is SO much life in it!! He wants to personally speak to us and be with us as we read. It never comes from God as wanting to “control” the believers, but He knows reflecting and learning and applying brings great freedom.

Date ____ Read Genesis 1-2 Read Psalms 1-2 Read Matthew 1-2 Read Acts 1-2

NOTES: ______

READ: John 6:63 (ESV) “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.”

Hebrews 4:12 (TPT) “For we have the living word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet! It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.”

LISTEN: R EAL THING - MAVERICK CITY MUSIC,

JOURNAL: Start Day One of the reading plan explained above! Or, if you do not want to do that reading plan, read the 2 verses above and write down what stands out to you from them!

DECLARE: I love the Lord and I love His word. I will read the Bible so I can grow a deeper, more personal relationship with the Father. I don’t want to just go through the motions and be like everyone else. I will hunger after Jesus, and fulfill my desires through the promises in His word that He freely provided. I am thankful for His wisdom, and I need more of it in my life.

25. OBEDIENCE

DO: ● KNOW GOD ○ To obey God you need to know God, and to know God, you need to know His Word, the Bible. If you don’t know God, then His “commandments” will never seem reasonable, and you will begin to look at them as rules from a harsh leader. Sometimes, it’s easy to misunderstand why we have to follow God’s commandments. These commandments aren’t based on wanting to control us, but are based off of a pure and undeniable love for us. He knows what will happen when we don’t follow these “rules”. He knows how they will create a broken spirit within us. His ultimate goal is to keep us from harm and to keep our hearts pure, but we can only believe that and live it, when we have a relationship with Him. ● HEAR GOD ○ To be able to do what God is saying, you need to hear what God is saying. That’s why reading the Bible is so important. You learn God’s voice, tone, and intentions through reading His word. You begin to distinct the voice of yourself, Satan and the Lord. The closer you are to God, the more you will know it is Him revealing something to you. He speaks in MANY different ways. He speaks through dreams, sermons, prayer, worship, audibly, feelings deep in your heart, and through friends, family or strangers. ● RESPOND TO GOD ○ Though his love for us is unconditional, our relationship with him goes both ways! When He speaks to us or shows us something, He desires a response in return. Maybe He shows you that you are too mean to classmates, and once you are aware of that, He expects you to respond by now loving them well. Maybe you feel deep in your soul that you shouldn’t be in a certain relationship, because they are unhealthy and pulling you away from Him. He wants you to respond to this by trusting that once you leave that relationship, He will fulfill all your desires. ○ When we obey God, we are choosing to place him as our highest priority, as he should be! We cannot be disobedient to our Father and expect him to fulfill the desires of our heart. READ: John 14:15 (NLT): If you love me, obey my commandments.

1 John 2:3-6 (TPT): “Here’s how we can be sure that we’ve truly come to know God: if we keep his commands. If someone claims, “I have come to know God by experience,” yet doesn’t keep God’s commands, he is a phony and the truth finds no place in him. But the love of God will be perfected within the one who obeys God’s Word. We can be sure that we’ve truly come to live in intimacy with God, not just by saying, “I am intimate with God,” but by walking in the footsteps of Jesus. “

LISTEN: U NTO THE LAMB - UPPERROOM

JOURNAL: Think about a time in your life where you were disobedient to an authority figure. What happened and why were you disobedient? Can you see now why you should have been obedient?

DECLARE: God knows what is best for my life. He is faithful and trustworthy! I know that He values me and sees my worth. I know that He loves me. I know that when He calls me to be obedient it does not come from a place of wanting to control me, but rather a place of love and kindness because He knows what is best for me. I will practice obedience daily! Though I may stumble, I know that he will forgive me, I will repent, get up, and continue to pursue obedience to Him in my life.

26. UNOFFENDABLE HEART

DO: ● UNDERSTAND WHAT OFFENDS YOU ○ You can never become unoffended until you understand what offends you. Oftentimes we are offended, holding resentment and anger, because someone has done or said something that you may not agree with. Ask yourself, what are your biggest pet peeves, and why? What are the things that are the complete opposite of what you do/believe? ○ Sometimes our offense comes from a place of past hurt, not because the person in front of you is actually that terrible. Understanding what offends you happens when you allow the Lord to reveal areas of your life that you have been hurt and broken before. ● REACH OUT + RIP OUT ○ After you have found and understand the root of offense, the past hurts, the past disappointments, the past abuse or mistakes, it is time to rip the root out of your heart and give it to Jesus. This hinders the offense from growing back, and it is done through repentance and prayer. Then, after you’ve ripped it out, you can now reach out, to those that have offended you, and you can love them. You can reach out to those that are crippled by offense and show them a greater way of love. ● OPEN UP + BELIEVE THE BEST ○ The greatest way to counteract this spirit of offense, is to actively love those who have offended you. Jesus is never offended because He believes the best about those around Him. He sees them with the eyes of love, forgiveness and compassion. Sometimes we need to lie down our selfish ways of life and perspective, to see someone the same way Jesus does.

READ: Proverbs 17:9 “Love overlooks the mistakes of others, but dwelling on the failures of others devastates friendships.”

Colossians 3:13-14 “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”

LISTEN: M IRACLE IN MOTION - COREY VOSS + MADISON STREET WORSHIP

JOURNAL:

When was the last time someone said / did something offensive towards you? How did you respond to the offense? How do you think Jesus would respond?

DECLARE: Reveal my heart’s true condition, and do not allow hidden offense to clothe me with pride. Holy Spirit, I realize that you are removing offense and bitterness from my heart so that I can walk in greater freedom, and enter into more of the Kingdom. I will not filter my life through past hurts, rejections, or experiences. I will never doubt the goodness of God.

27. FOUNDATION

DO: ● DEMO TIME - TEAR DOWN PAST FOUNDATION ○ A lot of times, if we are truly honest with ourselves we know when something isn’t good for us. To fully be built on Jesus, we need to remove the ground work from our lives before Him, or else everything we do will be uneven. Plus, rock bottom is a great place to begin building again, so don’t let anxiety take over when you feel as if your old way of life is being stripped away. ● REBUILD ON JESUS ○ You get to decide what your life is built on. Don’t find your acceptance through how many likes you get on instagram, but solely in the fact that Jesus died for YOU. ○ Build on Jesus by spending more time in your Bible and about who He says you are and what His plans are for you. Also, build on Him by becoming more like Him. That is the point of this Jesus Challenge as a whole - to become more like Christ. Applying His characteristics to our daily lives help us to build on Him, our strong foundation. ● CONTINUAL CHECK - UPS ○ Professionals recommend that your building’s foundation should be checked multiple times a year, so you can be right on top of problems as they start to arise, saving you from repair costs and other damages. Although we are humans and not buildings, this should still apply to what we are building our life off of. It is important to always reflect & be open to hearing what the Lord says is broken, unstable or not good for your life! Check - Ups aren’t to seek out failure, but they are to find things that are not consistent with the character of God before they become problems that cause everything to start tumbling back down.

READ: Matthew 7:24-27 “Everyone who hears my teaching and applies it to his life can be compared to a wise man who built his house on an unshakable foundation. When the rains fell and the flood came, with fierce winds beating upon his house, it stood firm because of its strong foundation. But everyone who hears my teaching and does not apply it to his life can be compared to a foolish man who built his house on sand. When it rained and rained and the flood came, with wind and waves beating upon his house, it collapsed and was swept away.”

LISTEN: W ORSHIP YOU FOREVER (HOLY GHOST FIRE) - TODD DULANEY

JOURNAL:

What do you currently build your life on? (Ex: approval of others, mistakes, money, desires, relationships) Do you think your life is built more on the world or on the Lord?

DECLARE: Lord, I am willing to lay down my way of doing things and my ways of building my life, in order to make you the foundation of all that I do. I want my joy, hope, peace and plans to come from a place of love for you. My purpose and my identity are found when I rest and trust in you. I trust you with my future. I trust you with my now.

28. SPEAK

DO: ● ASK ○ What are you allowing to be spoken into your life? ■ This helps us to identify what we should allow to be spoken into our lives and what we shouldn’t allow. Take some time to sit in the presence of God, ask him what he thinks of you. Wait and Listen. Read the Bible and look at what he says about his children! If the words being spoken into your life don’t line up with those same values that God has for you then it's time to cut those things off! Choose to identify with what God says about you rather than what the world says about you. ○ Who are you allowing to speak into your life? ■ Evaluate who you are letting speak into your life. If these people don’t have the same values as you, their words can be misleading and of the world. Don’t let them speak into your life! Take some time to find people in your life that have similar values. It helps to have other Christians speak into your life because they typically have the same value system as you. These people can help speak Godly perspective into your life. ○ What are you speaking into others lives? ■ The Bible tells us that there is life and death in the tongue! This means that our words carry far more value than we could even imagine. Take a look at the way you speak into other lives. Consider the weight of your words, tone, and attitude. Does it resemble Jesus? Take some time to realign with Him and what His word says about others. The more we know the character of God, the easier we can identify what he speaks over people. ● LISTEN ○ If we want to know what God says about us and about others, we have to learn to listen for His voice! To learn the voice of God, we have to pray, read, and seek Him constantly. If we tune everything out and listen closely, He will speak to us! If you struggle with hearing the voice of God, pray and ask Him to reveal Himself to you very evidently. Spend intentional time seeking His presence! ● ENCOURAGE ○ Speak life! Speaking life into people's lives means to speak the truth. Help them know the truths that God speaks over them! Encourage them by telling them who God sees them as. This also applies to yourself! Knowing and reminding yourself what God says about you is important and essential to drawing nearer to Him!

READ: Matthew 17:20 “He told them, “It was because of your lack of faith. I promise you, if you have faith inside of you no bigger than the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain,

‘Move away from here and go over there’, and you will see it move! There is nothing you couldn’t do!”

Proverbs 18:20-21 “Sharing words of wisdom is satisfying to your inner being. It encourages you to know that you’ve changed someone else’s life—Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences”

LISTEN: I WON’T FORGET - BRIAN JOHNSON, JENN JOHNSON

JOURNAL: Does what you speak into others lives reflect the character of Jesus? How can you be intentional about speaking life and truth into others lives?

DECLARE: I will ask and evaluate what I am allowing to be spoken into my life. I will not let people speak lies from Satan over me. I will speak life and encouragement into others lives as God has done to me. I will take the time to listen to what God says about me and what he says about others. I know that he is faithful to reveal the truth.

29. COMMUNITY

DO: ● JOIN A COMMUNITY/YOUTH GROUP ○ CLUB ■ Club is a small group intended for middle school students (5-8 grade). This group usually starts in the fall and lasts throughout the school year. Students can play games, meet new people, build friendships, and learn more about Jesus! (For questions or more information about this group feel free to message + follow Renegaids instagram account @renegaid_ ) ○ RDBG ■ RDBG is a small group intended for high school students (9-12 grade). This group usually starts in the fall and lasts throughout the school year. This learning is a bit more developed than CLUB, but serves the same main purposes that CLUB does. This includes playing games + having fun while also learning about the Bibles core values and the character of Jesus. (For questions or more information about this group feel free to message + follow Renegaids instagram account @renegaid_ ) ○ THIRSTIES ■ Thirsties is intended for college age students, ranging from 18-30 years old. This group is great for meeting new people and really diving into community. At thirsties there is normally some food & snacks before having intimate worship and a message. (For questions or more information about this group feel free to message + follow Thirsties Instagram account @thirsites_ ) ● LEARN HOW TO BE VULNERABLE ○ To be vulnerable means to open up to people. Without vulnerability, there is no relationship, and without relationship there is no community! Jesus created us for relationship and love with others. Take some time to identify what being vulnerable looks like to you right now in this season. Take action against isolation and loneliness! You have the boldness and authority to step out and step into community.

READ: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

LISTEN: S URROUNDED (FIGHT MY BATTLES) - UPPERROOM, ELYSSA SMITH

JOURNAL:

Do you prefer to be isolated or in community, why? What can you do to intentionally pursue community on a greater level than you have before?

DECLARE: I will choose community over isolation! I know that God created me for relationship with Him and others. I choose to be obedient in this calling to vulnerability with others. I will find a small group to join and be intentional in pursuing Godly friendships with those around me. I won’t let fear or passivity drive me away from community, I will fight to develop strong relationships with those in my community.

30. BACK TO HIM

DO: ● CONVERSATION

○ If your idea of praying or talking to God is that it has to be certain words, or you have to be “good” at praying, then you are mistaken. God doesn’t judge us by how good our words sound, but He judges us by our hearts. ○ Set aside at least 10 minutes of your day and just talk to Jesus. Speak to Him as if He is just a friend in your car passenger seat, or your best friend at the end of your bed. ● WORSHIP ○ Go back to Him by spending a few minutes today listening to the worship song of the day ● PUBLIC PRAISE ○ You have been given a gift to share the gospel of Jesus, and it is the least we can do, in return for all He has done for us. ○ Tell one person about Jesus this week, or share the Jesus Challenge with them!

READ: Luke 17:11-19 (TPT) “Jesus traveled on toward Jerusalem and passed through the border region between Samaria and Galilee. As he entered one village, ten men approached him, but they kept their distance, for they were lepers. They shouted to him, “Mighty Lord, our wonderful Master! Won’t you have mercy on us and heal us?” When Jesus stopped to look at them, he spoke these words: “Go to be examined by the Jewish priests.” They set off, and they were healed while walking along the way. One of them, a foreigner from Samaria, when he discovered that he was completely healed, turned back to find Jesus, shouting out joyous praises and glorifying God. When he found Jesus, he fell down at his feet and thanked him over and over, saying to him, “You are the Messiah.” This man was a Samaritan. “So where are the other nine?” Jesus asked. “Weren’t there ten who were healed? They all refused to return to give thanks and give glory to God except you, a foreigner from Samaria?” Then Jesus said to the healed man lying at his feet, “Arise and go. It was your faith that brought you salvation and healing.”

LISTEN: FOUND YOUR LOVE - COREY VOSS + MADISON STREET WORSHIP

JOURNAL: 1. Make a list of the reasons you love Jesus 2. Make a list of the reasons Jesus loves you

DECLARE: Holy Spirit, fill my heart with a hunger for you that I cannot ignore. I will not be satisfied until my

days, thoughts and actions are full of you, to the point of overflowing. I am in love with you Jesus. I choose to go back to you in the good, the bad, the days of hope and days full of discouragement. I choose Jesus. I choose to live for Jesus. I choose to live like Jesus.
