NEXT MAN UP FOR COLUMBIA With all the injuries combining the previ- ous two seasons (2018 and 2019), Columbia has still found a way to win. The program has adopted a “Next Man Up” mentality. Last year, Columbia played without its top three quarterbacks, its top two wide receivers, its top two running backs and without nine other players who had started games this year and 25 total players out with injuries. Ba- gnoli has depth built on three straight top-25 recruiting classes. Amazingly, Columbia won six games in 2018 using four diff erent starting quarterbacks. Columbia has won at least one

FELKINS SETS COLUMBIA, IVY LEAGUE PLACEKICKING MILE- STONES After only nine games at Columbia, fi rst- year placekicker Alex Felkins has already etched his name among the school’s and Ivy League’s all-time best kickers. With a 50-yard fi eld goal in the season opener at Saint Fran- cis, Pa. and a career-best 51-yard fi eld goal at Princeton in the Ivy League opener on Oct. 5, Felkins became the only kicker in Columbia football history to kick two 50-yard fi eld goals in a career. GAME 9 • BROWN 48, COLUMBIA 24 Nov. 16, 2019 • Robert K. Kraft Field • New York, N.Y.

NEW YORK—Quarterback EJ Perry threw for 300 yards and three touch- downs and ran for another score as Brown jumped out to a 21-0 fi rst quarter lead and held off Columbia the rest of the way for a 48-24 win. Brown scored the game’s fi nal 20 points, registered 14 points off Lions turn- overs and answered several Columbia comeback attempts. Columbia battled back and cut its defi cit to four points two times but Brown’s off ense answered both times with touchdowns. Brown took a quick 21-0 lead just seven minutes into the game. The Bears went up 7-0 on Columbia’s second off ensive play when Malcolm Brunson forced a fumble and Nick Messina recovered the ball and scampered 38 yards for a touchdown. Perry led Brown on a 64-yard, four-play drive which ended in a fi ve-yard touchdown run by Allen Smith and gave the Bears a 14-0 lead. Brown went up 21-0 following a two-yard touchdown run by Perry. Columbia got on the board when Alex Felkins converted a 35-yard fi eld goal with 9:42 to go before halftime. Moments later, the Lions scored their fi rst touchdown when Ryan Young burst through the right of the line and rambled for a 49-yard run touchdown run. Columbia cut the defi cit to 21-17 when Lenhart found Wainwright for a 34-yard touchdown pass after Hunter Lunsford intercepted a Perry pass. With the Lions seemingly in control of the game’s momentum, Brown’s Allen Smith burst up the middle of the defense for a 70-yard touchdown run and 28-17 halftime lead. Columbia cut the defi cit to 28-24 on a double reverse fl ea fl icker touchdown pass from Lenhart to Wainwright. It was all Brown the rest of the way as the Bears scored 20 unanswered points to close out the third quarter.
