Brent Swaggert was the vanguard Sonny Holland Offensive MVP QB Denarius McGhee of MSU’s impressive run of offensive linemen, with the big left tackle from Buffalo, MN, earning honorable mention All-America honors as a sophomore in 2001 and again in 2002. Bill Kollar Defensive MVP As a senior in 2003 under fi rst-year offensive line coach Jason McEndoo, Swaggert endured LB Aleksei Grosulak a spring in which he played each offensive line position due to injuries in the offensive Jan Stenerud Kick Teams MVP front, he was named Third Team All-America, the fi rst Bobcat named to an All-America RB Blayde Becksted team above honorable mention since 1984. Jeff Bolton emerged as Swaggert’s succes- Don Hass Most Inspirational sor, landing Second Team All-America honors in 2004 before earning not only First Team SS Michael Rider All-America honors as a senior but winning the Dave Rimington Trophy as Division I-AA’s Offensive Coaches Choice top center - even though he played only the last seven games of his career at that position. Mike Person In 2008, Jeff Hansen earned Honorable Mention All-America honors as a junior in 2008, Joe Tiller Defensive Coaches Choice before landing consensus First Team All-America honors as a senior in ‘09. Jordan Craney Ken Amato Kick Teams Coaches Choice Cody Kirk Elite Company When Big Sky coaches named Denarius McGhee the league’s 2010 co-offensive MVP and Top Offensive Scout Brian Floetkoetter fi rst team all-conference quarterback, the freshman from Mississippi via Texas joined some elite company in Bobcat circles. McGhee became only the second Bobcat to earn Big Sky Top Defensive Scout Cole Moore Offensive MVP honors (sharing the award with Eastern ’s Taiwan Jones), join- ing Kelly Bradley, and only he seventh MSU player named fi rst team all-league quarterback.
