Her first book, Political Official Opening: Liam O’Neill Corruption in Ireland 1922-2010, A Crooked Harp? was published this year. Elaine teaches Comparative Political Reform at the Department of Political Science in Trinity Citizens of the World - What can my country do for me ? College Dublin, was a weekly columnist for the Irish Times and now writes for the Symposium: Elaine Byrne Sunday Independent. Elaine is a graduate of UL and on occasion still works in the family pub and undertaking business on the Wicklow / Carlow border. Eilis Quinlan Eilis Quinlan is a Qualified Accountant & Registered Auditor and Tax Specialist. Cormac Lucey She sits on the National council of ISME and was appointed Chairman in 2009. Eilis was appointed by Minister Michael Martin to the Government’s SME Musical Entertainment Management Development Council and is a member of the Institute of Directors in nd Ireland (IoD). Her main expertise lies in small and medium enterprise development. He served as a special adviser to Tánaiste Michael McDowell, during the 2002 – 2007 government. Longford and was one of the early advisors and has been a frequent contributor to the Goldsmith Summer School. He has been a member of the boards of "Observations from a Rural Life” The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, The Arts Council and professionally, CEO of Co. Monaghan VEC. His main arts interest is drama – as Artistic Director and actor with Drumlin Players, Monaghan 7.00 pm The Three Jolly Pigeons and as Secretary of the Guild of Irish Drama Adjudicators (ADA). He has broadcast on “Sunday Goldsmith Barbecue featuring Traditional Music & Ballad Session with Miscellany” and has always maintained his contacts with Longford and Goldsmith ! Seamus Walsh, Tony Dunne, Audrey Murphy & Friends. Professor Peter Denman is a member of the Department of English at NUI Maynooth. He has published and broadcast widely on poetry, including a book on Samuel Ferguson, and he rd Sunday June 3 Goldsmith Room, Ballymahon Library Adm. €5 has been an editor of Poetry Ireland Review and the Irish University Review . He has lectured and taught in Ireland and abroad, including at the Yeats Summer School and the John Hewitt 12.00 pm Chair: Seamus McCormack Summer School. He has been a recipient of an Eric Gregory Award and the Birmingham Post Poetry Prize. He has edited various poetry publications, including Poetry Ireland Review . Goldsmith Miscellany featuring: Seamus O’Rourke is a former Leitrim County Footballer and a life long member of Helen Kelly Michael Conlon Breege Murray the Corn Mill Theatre Group, Carrigallen. He has won All-Ireland awards for acting Michael Casey Anne Tully John McKeown and directing. His writings include recitations, (which have become a YouTube hit), poems and the plays Dig, Down, The Trappe Family and Ride On!. In 2010 he Musical Contributors: wrote, directed and stared in the award winning play Victor’s Dung. He has also Audrey Murphy Tony Dunne Kate Connolly contributed to the McGahern Summer School Heather Brett is a writer and artist. Born in Canada, but living in Cavan for over 25 Sunday June 3rd Pallas (Goldsmith’s Birthplace) years, she has 3 collections of poetry to date 'Abigail Brown',(Salmon) which won the Brendan Behan Memorial Prize, The Touchmaker (Alternative Press) and Green Monkey Travelling (Bluechrome). Heather has been writer in residence in many 3.30 pm Chair: Anne Tully counties throughout Ireland and editor of Windows Publications for over 20 years, She facilitates arts groups and poetry based workshop projects with students of all ages. Poetry Readings by Acclaimed Poet Heather Brett Poetry Results Noel Monahan holds an M.A. in Creative Writing and has published five collections of poetry. His literary awards include: The Hiberno-English Poetry Award, The Irish Writers’ Adjudicated by Noel Monahan Music by Gerry Bohan Union Poetry Award, The William Allingham Poetry Award and The Kilkenny Poetry Prize for Poetry. His work has been translated into Italian, French, Romanian and Russian. His most Joe’s Cheese & Wine recent plays include: “ The Children of Lir” and “ Lovely Husbands” His poetry is currently Readings of Winning Entries prescribed text for the Leaving Certificate English Course .
