The Cuala Press (originally the Dun Emer Press, 1903 – 1907) was a private press operated by Elizabeth Yeats, sister of William Butler Yeats, from 1903 to 1940. After Elizabeth Yeats’ death in 1940, the press was run by Esther Ryan and Marie Gill until its demise in 1946. Inspired by William Morris’ Arts and Crafts Movement, the press published works by writers associated with the Irish Literary Revival.
The Irish Collection of the Rare Books and Manuscripts Library at the Ohio State University Libraries owns over eighty percent of the titles published by the Cuala Press.
