The Great Khali Called Upon CM Jairam Thakur by : INVC Team Published on : 3 Feb, 2018 04:50 PM IST The Great Khali called upon CM Jairam Thakur By : INVC Team Published On : 3 Feb, 2018 04:50 PM IST INVC NEWS Shimla, World famous heavyweight professional wrestling Champ of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Dilip Singh Rana, ‘The Great Khali’ called upon Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur at Dharamshala today and briefed him about his plans to organise the world heavy weight wrestling championship in Himachal Pradesh in near future. He said that earlier in previous government he had forwarded his proposal for the same but it did not got through for the reason well known to the previous government. Hailing from Dhiraina village of Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh Dilip Singh came to lime light by defeating the Undertaker in professional wrestling bouts. He said that organising the wrestling championship in Himachal Pradesh would not only bring name to the State but maximum share of funds gathered from this championship would be given in Chief Ministers Relief Fund. Chief Minister gave his approval to the proposal of the mega wrestling show in Himachal Pradesh where world famous wrestlers will participate. Chief Minister said that the Government was keen to promote sports but it was rather pitiable that the previous Congress government never took the sports seriously and initiated measures to the proposal of this type. Chief Minister asked the Sports Minister Shri Govind Thakur to further tie up for holding wrestling Championship in the State, which will also give boost to tourism. • 10 Former World Champions Not in the Hall of Fame
10 Former World Champions not in the Hall of Fame Just to clarify, this list is in no particular order so it does not seem biased, and is using people who have retired or are not involved in the WWE. 1. Christian: Christian was popular at two points in his career, with Edge, and his world title feud with Randy Orton. People felt Christian should have gotten the world title run after Edge and Christian broke up. This never happened. As Christian's career went on, it looked like he was never going to get the world title run he deserved. Then, in 2011, the world champion at the time had to retire and vacate his belt. That champion was his former tag partner, Edge. WWE decided that it was then time for Christian to get his world title run. He ended up having 2 runs with the belt, and many other championships, yet he is not in the Hall of Fame. 2. Chris Benoit: This one actually makes sense as to why he is not in the Hall of Fame. He killed two people and himself. That isn't publicity that WWE wants, but we can't deny the fact that he won the world title at wrestlemania 20. That and his career with WCW, where he did well. Now some people will argue that he is already in the Hall of Fame with the Four Horsemen, but WWE only inducted certain members, and Benoit was not one they inducted. 3. Rey Mysterio: Rey defied what WWE calls a pro wrestler.

  • Cubed Circle Newsletter
Cubed Circle Newsletter In some ways this week was a slow news week, there were no big puro shows to cover or pay-per-views, on the other hand the RAW rating was telling, but we didn’t get the segment by segment ratings due to Thanksgiving. Still we have a pretty decent sized newsletter for you this week, with a lot of different content including: Jonathan Snowden’s book ‘Shooters: The Toughest Men in Professional Wrestling’, RAW, The hours for the show, Impact, Cornette in brief, a New Japan iPPV preview and Ben Carass covers SmackDown and NXT. There is also an ongoing series on the front page covering some of the matches that I have overlooked over the past year, which I hope some people will enjoy. For those that haven’t seen it yet, the front page is now updated everyday, so if that is something that interests you check it out at cubedcirclewrestling.com – if you wondering about the 2002 Triple Crown match between Tenryu and Mutoh today is your lucky day. With that being said, I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter. - Ryan Clingman, Cubed Circle Newsletter Editor Shooters: The Toughest Men in Professional Wrestling By Jonathan Snowden Review When I first picked up Jonathan Snowden’s Shooters off Amazon I was expecting a fun read, but little else. What I was expecting was some light coverage of early Pioneer and pre-Pioneer era wrestling and then relatively long pieces on recent tough men in professional wrestling like Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar; I was expecting a fun read, but I got something far different.
