Diabetes UK - Northern and Yorkshire

We are the Regional Office that supports people in the Northern and Yorkshire region with Diabetes.

We run events in the community and with employers. We engage with the professional healthcare sector and have service champions and advocates. Our aims are to grow engagement with Type 1 families and those from the BAME sector, to improve care and get education, quality footcare and support in schools available to more people. We aim to increase individuals awareness and understanding of their risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and play a leading role in the role of the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme.

We will continue to influence health systems, the food industry, the government and local authorities to take measures to improve the populations health, reduce obsesity and prevent Type 2 Diabetes through lobbying, targetted media and campaigning activity.

We cover the following areas:

County Durham East Yorkshire South Yorkshire Tees and West Yorkshire Lancashire Greater Manchester Merseyside Cheshire
