Postgame Quotes Nashville Predators vs. Buffalo Sabres January 18, 2020 Nashville Predators Quotes Head Coach John Hynes On his thoughts of the team’s performance from start to finish… I give a lot of credit to the players. We didn’t necessarily like what our game was like against Anaheim. I addressed some things yesterday and worked on some things. These games are always a little bit iffy because there is a break. I thought that the mental focus, the effort, the intensity level, the commitment to play the game the right way, managing the puck, puck battles, shot blocking, defensive structure – those things were all there. One of the biggest things we wanted to see was our intensity level in the offensive zone rise for extended time, grind the team down, getting more net-front traffic and pucks to the net. We did that tonight. When you play that way, you have to play hard. You have to be committed. Tonight, we had a committed effort and got rewarded for it. On the team's response after losing in Buffalo… The response was better and that's another area that we talked about, even after our press conference after the Anaheim game, was about mental toughness and fortitude and push back in your game and that's what it takes to be a to be a team, that you have to earn your confidence. We went out and even though we were down, the way that we were playing, that gives you confidence that if we stay with it and stick with it and don't veer off it, that we'll be able to get another one and we were right in the game.

  • Postgame Quotes Nashville Predators Vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Postgame Quotes Nashville Predators vs. Philadelphia Flyers Predators Quotes Head Coach Peter Laviolette On Viktor Arvidsson’s return from injury and the recent injuries… The injuries have been substantial, it’s not a two-game thing, or a five- to seven-day thing; they’ve been substantial injuries. With that comes recovery of the body and also the conditioning and the timing of the game. I thought he came back and played a good first game and then from there, I think it’s been a build-up where he’s tried to get better, he’s pushing himself, you see how important he is out there tonight with his speed, and his work ethic, his ability to score goals and make a difference in the game. The line was really good, especially in the second and third period. On Juuse Saros trending in the right direction… Well tonight he was terrific, let’s be honest. He made all the ones he was supposed to, and then he made some ‘wow’ saves in there as well where they got behind us. Recently we’ve played a lot of teams really strong off the rush. Washington, Dallas, the Rangers and I think Philadelphia, a couple times here, they’re a rush team. They’re able of attacking, they fly guys capable of getting behind you, and they did. We needed saves there and he made them. On how the team can continue their recent success… I’m usually pretty honest, I told you that the two losses before the win, I hated the result.
