Sheffield is one of the best and cheapest places to live as a student in the whole of the UK.

Sheffield is England’s fourth largest city, with an impressive industrial past and a redesigned city centre. This is a place with an important civic history. New fountains, new hotels and the attractive Winter Gardens enhance the bustling centre. Originally famous for steel manufacturing, Sheffield is clean, green and has an excellent reputation for safety. Shops abound in the city centre – from department stores to independent boutiques – with further shopping in one of Europe’s largest retail centres, Meadowhall, easily accessible by our Supertram.

We have two theatres of national importance and the largest independent cinema outside London, together with other cinema complexes, large scale music venues
