YEAR BOOK 2017/18 Part of Barnsley College Welcome to our Year Book principal’s which gives us an opportunity to review a highly successful welcome academic year for the College. Over the year both the College and our students received a number of accolades. Apprentice Jamie-Leigh Mitchell won the Apprentice of the Year Award at the North Midlands and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards Ceremony and the College was placed second in the country in NICDEX, the annual league table of colleges published by FE Week. These accolades underline that the College is a fantastic place for our students to take the necessary steps towards their dream career. Transforming students’ lives is key to everything our staff do and they are fully committed to ensuring students have a good time, achieve their aims and go on to employment or Higher Education. Our students have recorded many superb sporting achievements and have taken advantage of great opportunities and experiences outside College such as debating and visits to parliament. The College continues to play a pivotal role within the local community as reflected in our involvement in events including the Tour de Yorkshire and the Mayors’ Parade.
