November is the Month of the Holy Souls and of the Faithful Departed. It is a time to visit the graves of loved ones, pray for them, and pray for the souls in purgatory. All Saints Day, a holy day of obligation, is Sunday, Nov. 1. All Souls Day, a day to honor the dead, is Nov. 2.
