Upon his release, Tony finds that he has lost not only his wife, children, and home, but also his name, reputation, career – and all his money. Like a clumsy Phoenix trying to rise from the ashes, the eternal optimist sets out on a very bumpy journey to reclaim his life, and win back the love and respect of his family. Unfortunately for Tony, things don’t always work out as planned. SYNOPSIS: In the 1990’s, Tony Finelli, an Italian-American from New York (Mark Janicello) was a star in Europe. Tony found fame starring in “ELVIS: The Musical” and together with his ever- present manager, Jürgen Drahtseil, turned that initial success into an international singing career. In 1997, Jürgen was approached by an “Italian Concert Promoter” regarding a big concert for Tony in Sicily. This “promoter” turned out to be an undercover agent working for the German CIA, and leading a secret sting operation to arrest ”Mr. Big“ (Godfather of the Gambaretto Mafia Family), who was under investigation in Berlin for both tax evasion and money laundering. In over their heads and caught between the Mafia and the German CIA, Tony and Jürgen were faced with the choice of either going to prison for Mr. Big or having both of their families murdered by the mob. ”The Finellis“ begins on the day Tony and Jürgen are released from a 15-year sentence in Moabit Prison in Berlin. No one meets them at the gate. Tony returns to his former home wanting to rebuild his life. Unbeknownst to Tony, his Russian ex-wife Tina Finelli had filed for divorce shortly before his release. The former model and stewardess' reputation had been ruined by the scandal surrounding Tony’s arrest. Alone with two children and no income, Tina turned Tony’s mansion into a bed and breakfast. Now, as owner of Tony’s former home, she lives there with their two daughters, Lola and Lena (now 27 and 20 years old), as well as with Tony’s parents, Pete and Bea Finelli and his ancient, Sicilian grandmother ”Nonna“. Four generations of Finellis are living under one roof. Recently, the maintenance man in Tina’s boarding house quit. Out of love for his family, Tony Finelli, the proud peacock, swallows his pride and takes over the job, hoping to rebuild his life, restart his career and reconnect with Tina and his children. Take Tony’s two left hands, add a helping of total inadequacy, and you have the perfect recipe for the comedic chaos that is ”The Finellis.” Marjan Content Productions Tel: +49 151 663 627 28 E-Mail: [email protected] MAIN CHARACTERS TONY FINELLI Italian heritage. They find out that nothing isis thethe wayway theythey leftleft it.it. SYNOPSIS: Tony and Jürgen are released from Moabit prison and no one meets them at the gate. After walking through Berlin, Tony finally returns to his home to find out that his wife Tina has divorced him and turned his mansion into a “Bed and Breakfast.” His daughter Lola is happy to see him again, but his younger daughter Lena struggles with her feelings for her long-lost father. Tony realizes that he has no money, no job, and after 15 years in prison, he has been forgotten by the music industry. It's a lot to process, but Tony, the eternal optimist, has a plan. Tony and Jürgen get to work re-establishing his singing career. In the hopes of winning back his estranged family, Tony moves into the attic apartment of the villa and takes the janitor's job in his own home to buy time with his ex-wife and children. MAIN MUSICAL NUMBER: "Here I Am Again" Episode 2 – "Dinnertime Disaster" TAGLINE: Tony's parents, Bea and Pete Finelli throw a "Welcome Home" Party for Tony and Jürgen and try to reunite the family the only way they know how – with food. Things don't work out exactly as planned. SYNOPSIS: Lola and Lena start asking their father Tony uncomfortable questions about the Finelli family history. Tony starts working as the janitor in Tina's Mansion, and tries to impress Tina by painting her hallway. His plan backfires, when more paint lands on Tony than on the walls. Tony's flirting, coupled with his ineptitude, cause Tina to go ballistic. Tony's parents, Bea and Pete Finelli throw a "Welcome Home" Dinner Party for Tony and Jürgen that goes epically wrong, ending in a massive food fight. Nonna, while faking a heart attack to stop the family from fighting, is suddenly overcome by a hallucination of Maria Callas singing to her. Nonna's ruse works. Everyone stops fighting and enjoys a family dinner together. MAIN MUSICAL NUMBER: "Zombie Heart" Episode 3 – "The Makeover" TAGLINE: After 15 years in prison, Jürgen thinks Tony is a bit "rough around the edges" and in desperate need of a complete "Makeover." However, sometimes "Less is More!" SYNOPSIS: After watching Tony in the fitness studio, Jürgen engages both a rough-and-tumble female fitness guru, as well as a very "extravagant" stylist to help transform Tony.

These new lugs hook onto bolts that at the shell’s nodal are attached to the shell, which allows the lug point. casings themselves to "float" eliminating any direct contact between the lug and the shell. As this design reduces the amount of hardware actually attached to the drum shell, the shell is allowed to vibrate freely. On an 11-inch shell the lug bolts, as well as the YESS mounting system, are all attached to the shell at its nodal point to greatly minimize influence on shell resonance to deliver maximum tone. Another benefit these lugs provide is when it comes time to change the head, it is no longer necessary to remove the tuning bolts from the lugs to remove the hoop. Just loosen the bolts enough to slide the lugs off of the bolts and the hoop comes right off. No more lost washers, etc. and head changes can be done quicker and easier than before. * Nodal point mounting is patented by the Nobel & Cooley Drum Company. Nylon Ring * Beside the Absolute Nouveau Lugs, the Absolute lugs that were offered on O Ring earlier models are also available.

  • Ronald Davis Oral History Collection on the Performing Arts
Oral History Collection on the Performing Arts in America Southern Methodist University The Southern Methodist University Oral History Program was begun in 1972 and is part of the University’s DeGolyer Institute for American Studies. The goal is to gather primary source material for future writers and cultural historians on all branches of the performing arts- opera, ballet, the concert stage, theatre, films, radio, television, burlesque, vaudeville, popular music, jazz, the circus, and miscellaneous amateur and local productions. The Collection is particularly strong, however, in the areas of motion pictures and popular music and includes interviews with celebrated performers as well as a wide variety of behind-the-scenes personnel, several of whom are now deceased. Most interviews are biographical in nature although some are focused exclusively on a single topic of historical importance. The Program aims at balancing national developments with examples from local history. Interviews with members of the Dallas Little Theatre, therefore, serve to illustrate a nation-wide movement, while film exhibition across the country is exemplified by the Interstate Theater Circuit of Texas. The interviews have all been conducted by trained historians, who attempt to view artistic achievements against a broad social and cultural backdrop. Many of the persons interviewed, because of educational limitations or various extenuating circumstances, would never write down their experiences, and therefore valuable information on our nation’s cultural heritage would be lost if it were not for the S.M.U. Oral History Program. Interviewees are selected on the strength of (1) their contribution to the performing arts in America, (2) their unique position in a given art form, and (3) availability.

Performing High, Performing Low: Enrico Caruso and Eduardo Migliaccio Esther Romeyn It is an evening during World War I. In a little theater on Mulberry Street, the heart of New York's Little Italy, the public awaits the appearance of the Italian American clown Eduardo Migliaccio, better known under his stage name "Farfariello," who will perform in a tribute to the Italian war effort. The evening, according to the journalist covering the festivities, "promises to be an enormous success, not only on the artistic level, but also as an affirmation of Italianness." 1 With a sense of pathos appropriate to the occasion, his account portrays the unfolding of events: It was an evening in honor of Farfariello, an evening benefitting the Italian patriotic cause. In a box in the front, Enrico Caruso was present as well. The stage was all adorned with Italian flags.

  • Pacific Ocean Blue Bambu
Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue Produced by Dennis Wilson & Gregg Jakobson Released August 22, 1977 - Caribou PZ 34354 (CBS) Pacific Ocean Blue - Legacy Edition Originial Recordings Produced by Dennis Wilson & Gregg Jakobson Bonus Tracks Produced by Dennis Wilson, John Hanlon & Gregg Jakobson Executive Producer: James William Guercio Released June 17, 2008 - Caribou/Epic/Legacy 88697-07916-2 (Sony/BMG) Disc One Dennis Wilson had always been considered the quintessential "Beach Boy": not in a musical sense (that, of course, was Brian), but in a lifestyle sense. His love of surfing inspired the others to adopt the image that launched the band, and his further adventures in the worlds of fast cars, fast bikes, and fast women continued to fuel the imagination and song catalog of his older brother and cousin. But in the first five or six years of their career, his musical contributions were limited to drumming and singing backup (and sometimes not even that), with an occasional lead vocal opportunity (either covers of other artists or new songs that Brian and Mike would throw his way). However, with Brian Wilson's retreat from full artistic control of the band in 1967, the other members (Dennis included) began to be relied upon more and more for compositional and production efforts. Dennis' first contributions in this respect appear on the 1968 Friends album, and would continue over the next five years; tunes like "Little Bird", "Be With Me", "Celebrate The News", and "Forever" were highlights of the late '60s-early '70s Beach Boys era. In order for Dennis to evolve musically into something more than "just the fun-loving playboy drummer", he needed to master a melodic/chordal instrument well enough to compose on it.
