Winnebago artist, Henry Payer, explains the Chief Little Priest painting he created for the Veteran's Building honoring. He explained how he wanted the painting to portray the time of Chief Little Priest and the Company A Scouts.

On Saturday afternoon, the Winnebago veteran's held a special honoring for all women veterans that were in attendance at this years celebration. All the women veterans were gifted with a blanket along with a honor song to commemorate their sacrifi ces in the armed forces. The new mystery building currently under construction east of the Woodland Trails building, is going to be a second structure for livework apartment units. The other livework units are located Congratulations to The New Winnebago Royalty! above the Sweet Water Cafe.

Well the maintance undergoing between the WTWC and the Reformed Church has now crossed under the main highway and is across the street. The WTWC is functioning with one vehicle entrance only.

The Neola Walker building is almost near completion. Not sure how many offi ces it will hold but it appears to be bigger than the original building before.

“Help us, as this 110 year old building has their well-being and not worry about the next fl ood in the basement.” exceeded it’s use” – Roland Warner Winnebago Tribal Treasurer

The Halfway House fundraising com- mittee is requesting donations to help meet the construction costs to replace the Chee-Woy-NaZhee “House of Hope”, also known as the Halfway House. As our Tribal Chairman, Frank White stated, “Together we can make a better future for the next generation.” Our goal is to provide a safe environ- ment for Native Americans recovering from alcohol and drug addiction so that they can be productive and positive role models in the Winnebago community or their home community. To make that possible the project will be constructing a 10 bed-residential rehabilitation and alcohol and drug counseling facility for recovering alcohol and drug addicted Native Americans on the Winnebago Reservation. The current facility is over 110 years old and has severe foundational issues. It has served the community well, but it is time for the current building to be replaced.
