THE RAIN IS HAMMERING DOWN ONTO THE ROOF OF THE CAR. DARK CLOUDS ABOVE AND BEHIND ME TIRELESSLY KEEP POURING FOR A COMPULSORY CAR WASH. THE WINDSCREEN WIPER STOICALLY DOES ITS MONOTONOUS WORK WITHOUT COMPLAINING. FORTUNATELY, HUMANS ARE SMARTER THAN MACHINES – UP TO NOW – AND SO I SEE THE RAY OF HOPE IN FRONT OF ME THAT IMMEDIATELY BRIGHTENS UP MY MOOD. BECAUSE WHAT MY WINDSCREEN WIPER DOES NOT KNOW IS THAT WE ARE COMING CLOSER TO THE TOWN OF MERANO THAT IS SITUATED IN ONE OF EUROPE’S MILDEST

Boris and Susanne guide me to the popular promenade of Merano. It is the landmark and centre of the spa town. We are pushing our e-bikes as it is not allowed to cycle here and go past the health resort. The building has a beauti ful concert hall, its architecture is characterized by classicism and Art Nouveau. The promenade winds its way along the Passer, on the other side of the river you can see a thermal bath.
