Association Of Lady Entrepreneurs Of INTRODUCTION

In , the micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been accepted as the engine of economic growth and for promoting equitable development. The major advantage of the sector is its employment potential at low capital cost. The labour intensity of the MSME sector is much higher than that of the large enterprises. The MSMEs constitute over 90% of total enterprises in most of the economies and are credited with generating the highest rates of employment growth and account for a major share of industrial production and exports. This sector employs an estimated 59.7 million persons spread over 26.1 million enterprises. It is estimated that in terms of value, MSME sector accounts for about 45% of the manufacturing output and around 40% of the total export of the3 country.

AP is the largest state in the southern peninsular region, with an area of 2,75,100 sq kms and a coast line of 974 kms. Based on the physical features, the State is divided into three regions - Eastern hills, the coastal plains and peninsular plateau.

The state has 23 districts, with 9 districts in the coastal area, 10 districts in the Telangana area, and 4 districts in the Rayalseema region. Hyderabad is the State capital

Economy: The state ranks fourth in terms of overall gross state domestic product and fourth in per capita gross state domestic product among the major states of India 4

Andhra Pradesh is a predominantly services economy . •49 per cent of the total GDP comes from the services sector. •Industry accounts for 27 per cent of GDP •Agriculture accounts for 24 per cent.

There has been a sharp decline in new small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the state during the past decade. In 1999-2000, the number of new SMEs accounted for 21.7 per cent of the total new enterprises. This has now come down to 7.19 per cent due to various reasons like lack of Adequate infrastructure , High Interest rate ,High Production cost etc.. 5 Objectives of Green Industrial parks

There is need for Green Industrial parks that provides conducive environment for entrepreneurs, that employs state-of-the-art technologies Including clean technologies, renewable energy technologies, environmental technologies, cost-effective common infrastructure and efficient management systems for creating Sustainable SMEs.

VISION

To make the state of Andhra Pradesh a role model for the rest of the World in Green Industrial parks.

9 ALEAP APPROACH The ALEAP approach in developing entrepreneurs consists of : 1. Providing Counseling to the Women Entrepreneur throughFacilitator and Business Development Cell (FAB Cell). This enables them to choose a business activity in which they possess interest. 2. Providing Need based Skill development Training to them

10 3. Conducting Entrepreneurship development programs 4. Helping them to access Finance from Banks/ Financial Institutions 5. Providing the much-required Infrastructure Facilities to start the sustainable businesses 6. Providing Post-establishment assistance in the areas of Marketing, Production etc.

12 INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES at ALEAP

ALEAP developed the 1st Women Entrepreneurs Industrial Estate in India at Gajularamaram, R.R.District, Hyderabad The estate has all the required Infrastructure facilities to transform women into excellent entrepreneurs. Central Government and State Government supported to develop marvelous Industrial Estate at Hyderabad under IID Scheme of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India,which creating an employment of 5000.

13 14 : With the encouragement from the success achieved in development of Industrial Estate at Hyderabad, ALEAP developed another Industrial Estate for women entrepreneurs at Surampally village ,near Nunna, Vijayawada under the Scheme of IID, Ministry of SSI, Govt. of India. There are 100 industries in this industrial estate creating an employment of 3000.

18 “ Green Initiatives at ALEAP Industrial Estate , Hyderabad , ALEAP in association with GIZ,Germany under the Indo German Environment partnership Established Hand Made paper unit and Vermicompost unit to demonstrate recycle & reuse solutions for waste at the Lady Entrepreneurs Industrial Estate at Gajularamaram, near Hyderabad.

Overall objective of the task: To demonstrate reuse & recycle of wastes in the ALEAP Industrial Estate, Gajularamaram, Hyderabad (Andhra Pradesh). 19

• Facilitation and Business Guidance (FAB) cell: provide counseling and guidance to convert idea into business • Centre for entrepreneurship Development(CED) : provides entrepreneurship trainings for youth and women . • ALEAP Credit guarantee Association(ACGA) :Help members to access finance and provide consultancy for preparation of project report . • International Desk : facilitate members to network with international organisations for technology Transfer, and Marketing linkages like MOA with ICRISAT collaborates with GIZ for development of ALEAP Green Industrial Park(A- GRIP) • ALEAP –VIPANI: connects manufacturer to consumer .Helps members to market their products through Exhibitions and Vendor development programs. 21 • Conclusion: ALEAP wants to become ‘truly Global’ in Women Empowerment.
