Important notes • Where Bishop Ramsey Church of School is named in a child’s statement of Special Educational Needs, the school has a duty to admit the child as directed by the Local Authority. It is not necessary to complete a Supplementary Information Form if your child has a statement of Special Educational Needs. • The definition of ‘A Looked after Child’ is a child placed with someone other than their parents after the intervention of the social services. • Priority within categories 2, 3, 6 and 7 as appropriate, will be given in the following order: -- Firstly to children whose parents attend an Anglican Church or Chapel who also live or worship in the Anglican Deanery of Hillingdon. -- Secondly to children whose parents attend an Anglican Church or Chapel who also live or worship in the Anglican Deaneries of Harrow or Brent. -- Thirdly* to children whose parents attend an Anglican Church or Chapel who also live or worship in Deaneries other than Hillingdon, Harrow or Brent or whose parents attend a Church or Chapel of a Christian Denomination affiliated nationally to ‘Churches Together in Britain & Ireland’ or the Evangelical Alliance. *PLEASE NOTE that as Category/Criterion 3 is only for children whose parents attend an Anglican Church or Chapel, as explained on the previous page, then only the first part of the above statement applies concerning the third priority within that particular category/ criterion. • Where two children meet the same criteria, distance from the school will be the deciding factor. Distance will be measured in a straight line from the School office to their permanent home as described in the Admissions Procedure. • A sibling is defined as; all blood, half, step, adoptive and foster children who live at the same address as the child already attending the school and will be attending the school at the time of admission. September 2013 Starting Secondary School 37 Stockley Academy A

Summary of the admissions criteria

All children applying for admission in Year 7 to Stockley Academy will be required to take a Non- Verbal Reasoning Test (NVRT). All applicants will then be placed in one of nine bands, based on their performance in the NVRT. Within each band children will be allocated a place on the basis of the oversubscription criteria detailed below. The number admitted from each band will be such that the intake is representative of the national ability range. Where the number of applications for admission in a band is greater than the percentage to be allocated within that band applications will be considered against the criteria set out below.

Oversubscription Where the Academy as a whole is oversubscribed but there are too few pupils to fill a particular ability band, pupils will be admitted alternately from the band below, and then the band above, until the band is filled. In allocating children the Academy will give priority in the order set out below: a. A ‘looked after child’ or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence, or special guardianship order. A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority , or(b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services functions (see the definition in Section 22 (1) of the Children Act 1989). b. Pupils whose siblings currently attend the Academy and who will continue to do so on the date of admission; (i.e. a natural brother or sister, a half-brother or sister, or a legally adopted brother or sister; who will be living with them at the same address at the date of their entry to the Academy). c. Pupils on the basis of proximity to the Academy, measured in a straight line from the point set by Ordnance Survey at the pupil’s home address (including flats) to a fixed point in the Academy set by Ordnance Survey (co-ordinates 506738, 181305) using the computerised Geographical Information System (GIS).

Additional information required, In addition to the Common Application Form, ALL applicants, including those with siblings already at the Academy, are also required to complete the Academy’s Supplementary Application Form. September 2013 Starting Secondary School 41 Parkside Studio College S

This school is not admitting year 7 pupils; this is for information only

Parkside Studio College, opening in September 2012, will provide vocational and academic education for 14-19 year olds. In 2012, Parkside Studio College will opt out of the Local Authority coordination for admissions. From 2013, Parkside Studio College will be part of the Local Authority coordination.

The Pupil Admission Number The Pupil Admission Number (PAN) for Year 10 is 60. Due to the transitional period leading up to full capacity in 2012/13 and 2013/14, the PAN for Year 12 age students will total 60 places including those offered to eligible external candidates. From the academic year 2014/15, the PAN for Year 12 will be 0 to external applicants other than in circumstances when there are fewer than 60 students of Year 11 age wishing to progress to Year 12 from within the College. In this situation, external students will be admitted in Year 12 until all 60 places available are filled.

The Oversubscription Criteria Prospective Year 10 students will be invited to attend an assessment day which involves standardised online non-verbal reasoning testing. As part of the oversubscription criteria at Year 10 we will use banding to ensure a fair application process. Each applicant will be placed in one of nine bands based on their performance in the tests, benchmarked against national data. This will ensure that the number admitted from each band will be representative of the national ability range. Places at Parkside Studio College will come from each of the nine bands and allocated in the order set out below: In cases of oversubscription in categories 1 and 2, priority will be given to those students using the distance measurement outlined in category 3. 1. Looked after children or previously looked after children. This includes students in public care who are the responsibility or interim responsibility of a Local Authority under the provisions of the Education (Admission of Looked After Children) Regulations 2006. 2. Students permanently residing in the following wards; Barnhill, Botwell, Charville, Pinkwell, Townfield, West Drayton, Yeading and Yiewsley. 3. Students living nearest to Parkside Studio College. The distance will be measured in a straight line between the front door of the registered home address and the reception point at the College. A computerised mapping system will be used to ensure accuracy. In cases where blocks of flats are concerned, priority will be given to the lowest flat number, e.g. 1, 1a, 2, etc. Travelling distances will not be taken into account. 4. Students residing outside the named wards in category 2 by random allocation. Where the number of suitably qualified applications for admission is greater than the PAN and after the admission of students with a statement naming Parkside Studio College, any remaining places will allocated using category 1, 2, 3, & 4 in the oversubscription criteria above.
