There is still a long road ahead to arrive at a complete solution for treating cancer diseases, however ICA's endeavors are still numerous and effective. Tens of thousands of patients and survivors receive help from the many of the ICA's services. These services help and ease coping with the difficulty of the disease, recovery as well as returning to a life routine. Prof. Aaron Ciechanover Throughout the years, we have invested tremendous efforts in information and public health promotion Nobel Prize Laureate Honorary President, activities, and indeed our efforts have produced results and are evidenced on the ground: There has Israel Cancer Association been an increase in the number of individuals undergoing early detection tests, leading to high cure rates. This activity, along with enhancing treatment modalities over the past 2 decades, has led to a 25 percent decrease in mortality according to Ministry of Health statistics. Throughout the year, ICA's information network produces information campaigns in the national media and social networks, to encourage the public to undergo early detection tests and adopt a healthy lifestyle. The ICA produces, updates and distributes information booklets and leaflets in Hebrew, Arabic and Russian, and holds lectures in schools, community centers, healthcare funds, workplaces and other locations. Parallel to its extensive public information activity, resources are also dedicated to improving treatments and enhancing patients' quality of life, by developing and promoting projects across Israel, renovating Prof. Eliezer Robinson and upgrading medical centers, promoting and supporting cancer research and funding projects and Chairman, Israel Cancer Association job slots for professionals to upgrade the service network for patients and their families. The ICA operates national rehabilitation centers year-round, with the assistance of professionals and volunteers, at "Strong Together"™ support and activity centers and 70 ICA branches dispersed across the country. The activities are diverse and include among others 'Survivors towards a Healthy Life'® workshops which aim to accompany cancer survivors in coping following recovery as well as "Look Good....Feel Better"® workshops, aimed at assisting patients and survivors in restoring their body image which has been impaired due to treatments and the disease, and improving external appearance which lifts one's spirits. Classes, mind-body activities, seminars on cancer diseases and their implications, trips and additional activities are held for the benefit of patients and survivors.
