Junior Bake Off Letter Dear Sir/ Madam We hope you don’t mind us getting in touch. We are a Television Production Company called Love Productions, who make programmes such as The Great British Bake Off and The Great British Sewing Bee. We have started to look for new Junior Bakers to take part in the third series of Junior Bake Off for CBBC. We are looking for bakers aged between 9 – 12 years old (as of 10th August 2015) to apply and potentially feature in the show, with a chance of being crowned Junior Bake Off Champion 2015. Do you think that this would be of interest to the children and parents at your school? If so, it would be great if you could help us share information with parents/guardians at your school, with details of how to apply. We would like to as many children as possible to apply. Do you think you might be able to assist with the following : send an email out to staff at your school? send letters/flyers (which we are happy to provide) out to parents and guardians? put up posters/ flyers (which we can provide)in areas where staff/parents can read about our series? if your school has a twitter/social media account, would you be able to post a message to say that Junior Bake Off is back and looking for a new set of children to participate? If you do think you can help, I have attached a copy of the Junior Bake Off poster and flyer, to this email. If you would like us to send you hard copies in the post, do let us know how many you would like – we’d like to reach out to as many potential Junior Bakers as possible, so the more the merrier! Filming will take place in August 2015, but our applicants’ procedure closes on 10th May 2015, so it would be great if you can pass this information on for us as soon as possible. Please do feel free to contact us on 0207 067 4858, should you have any questions regarding the above. Many thanks for your time and help. Best wishes The Junior Bake Off Team x .

Food television show formats such as Channel 4’s The Great British Bake Off in the UK and Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen in the US have consistently topped television ratings and attracted millions of viewers in every episode aired in their home counties and abroad. A range of publications argue that there has been a global demand for factual television formats, yet existing literature has focused primarily on dramas, talent shows and game show television format genres.
