In that disgraceful year (for Austria) the Habsburg Empire launched a campaign with the greatest military contingent, of about 630.000 men. Historische Kommission Für Westfalen
Historische Kommission für Westfalen Gesamtverzeichnis der Veröffentlichungen Stand: Juni 2014 Vorbemerkungen Im Februar 2013 hat die Historische Kommission für Westfalen erstmals ein Gesamtverzeich- nis ihrer Schriften in elektronischer Form vorgelegt, das seither laufend erweitert und aktua- lisiert wird. Auf eine Druckfassung wird seither verzichtet, ein Ausdruck dieses Verzeichnisses kann jedoch in der Geschäftsstelle angefordert werden. Die in diesem Verzeichnis aufgeführten Bände reichen bis in das Jahr 1847 zurück, als der erste Band des Westfälischen Urkundenbuches erschien. Mehr als ein halbes Jahrhundert später wurde dieser Band nachträglich zum Band 1 der Reihe 1 der Kommission erklärt – eine ähnliche nachträgliche Zuordnung haben noch weitere Bände erfahren, was bis heute gele- gentlich für Verwirrung bei der Titelaufnahme sorgt. Das traditionelle, am Ende nicht mehr sehr übersichtliche Gliederungsschema von zuletzt mehr als 45 Reihen wurde zum Jahresende 2010 aufgehoben. Seither erscheinen alle Bände in der „Neuen Folge“, die nicht weiter nach Themen unterteilt wird. Ausschließlich elektro- nisch publizierte Bände sind in der 2013 begonnenen Reihe „Materialien der Historischen Kommission für Westfalen“ zusammengefasst. Die Bände dieser beiden aktuellen Reihen ste- hen am Anfang des Verzeichnisses. Zahlreiche Werke sind – teilweise als Nachdruck – bei den entsprechenden Verlagen oder im Buchhandel noch erhältlich. Bei diesen Titeln sind die Bezugsangaben am Ende des Eintrags zu finden und Rot hervorgehoben. Mit blauer Hervorhebung sind unter den Titeln die verfügbaren Digitalisate älterer Bände nachgewiesen. Dabei handelt es sich um Scanns der Historischen Kommission, aber auch um Dateien, die von anderen Institutionen bereit gestellt werden. Die Links sind so angelegt, dass sie in den gängigen Leseprogrammen direkt aus der PDF heraus anzuklicken sind. -

This possibility had been clearly foreseen by acute observers, since there was no provision for the control of one arm of the government by the other, and in any working system supreme control must reside somewhere. For fear of usurpation, anarchy, and tyranny the constitution of the Directorate divided the powers so completely that they could not work at all. The spring elections of 1797 were the first held under this new constitution without any restrictions, and the Jacobin majority in the legislature disappeared. Barthélemy, the new director chosen to replace Letourneur, was a moderate democrat with royalistic leanings, who, like his predecessor, joined his fortunes with those of Carnot. The Five Hundred, therefore, as well as the Ancients, now represented the great majority of the French people, who hated Jacobinism, who were opposed to any republican propaganda in foreign countries, and who, more than anything else, wanted peace, in order to restore their fortunes and to secure leisure for their amusements.
