Many thanks for inviting me to join you for your inaugural meeting. Unfortunately, the Legislative Assembly is sitting and so I'm not able to be in London to give you my best wishes in person. But, I'll certainly be with you in spirit.

I'm very much looking forward to working with all of you and continuing our shared commitment to improve the quality of life for all Londoners

Please extend my sincere congratulations to all member of council who have been entrusted by their constituents to represent them well and play this vital leadership role.

Congratulations to our new City Council.

It is my sincere regret that my parliamentary duties prevent me from joining with Londoners today in extending a warm welcome to the 2011"2014 London City Council on the occasion of your Inaugural Meeting.

I have no doubt that this council, lead by His Worship Mayor Joe Fontana, will work tirelessly in support of the constituents of London and do our city proud in your role as our elected council. Please accept my sincere congratulation to the newest members of the council, and a heartfelt thank you to those of you who are renewing your commitment to sewe our great city.
