About the Authors ABOUT THE AUTHORS Alphabetical Order A. Vahap ULUÇ (Assist. Prof. Dr.) He was born in Kızıltepe/Mardin in 1971. He graduated Şenyurt High School in Mardin, in 1988, after that, graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Political Science in 1995. He has a Ph. D. of Political and Social Sciences at Istanbul University Institute of Social Sciences. He is a lecturer of Political and Social Sciences at Harran University. Ali Onur ÖZÇELİK (Dr.) Ali Onur Ozcelik is an Assistant Professor at Eskişehir Osmangazi Univer- sity. After obtaining his BA in the department of International Relations from Kocaeli University, he studied MA in Transatlantic Relations at the University of Birmingham. As a scholarship holder from Turkish Ministry of National Education, Özçelik gained his PhD from Politics Department at the University of Sheffield. He is currently working on Multi Level Gov- ernance, European Regional Policy, Territorial and Regional Representa- tions, Subnational Mobilization, City Diplomacy, Turkish regional and lo- cal governance. Atif AÇIKGÖZ (Assist. Prof. Dr.) He was born in 1981 at Bayburt. Dr. Açıkgöz received his BS in Economics (2006) from Yeditepe University, his MS in Science of Strategy (2010) from Gebze High Technology Institute, and his Ph.D. in Management (2013) from Fatih University. He has worked at Fatih University since 2014 as an Assistant Professor of Management. Bülent AKYÜZ (Assist. Prof. Dr.) Bülent AKYÜZ is an assistant professor of management and organiza- tion studies in the faculty of Economics, Business and Adminstration at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Turkey. He received his degree of doctor of philosophy in management and organization from Gebze Insti- tute of Technology. His current research interests include management, leadership, organizational behavior, total quality management, strategic management and human resource management. 436 About the Authors Duygu TÜRKER (Assist. Prof. Dr.) Duygu Turker has a BA in Business Administration/Dokuz Eylul Univer- sity, M.Sc. in Social-Environmental Sciences/Ankara University, MBA/Do- kuz Eylul University, and a PhD in Public Administration/Dokuz Eylul University. She has worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Yasar University. Her research interest in- cludes CSR, sustainability, environmental management, ethics, entrepre- neurship, and interorganizational relations. Edin Güçlü SÖZER (Dr.) Edin Güçlü SÖZER has worked in finance sector for 16 years. In the mean while he work as manager in several banks in Turkey and foreign coun- tries. Currently he is working in a private bank as manager. He took his graduate and Phd degrees from Yeditepe University in 2002 and 2008 re- spectively. Fatma Merve GİRGİN She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in An- kara. After she graduated at the Department of Statistics from the Hacette- pe University in 1992, she completed her master’s and PhD degree on Bio- statistics at the same university. She began the first job in academia in 1993 at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetic, Hacettepe University. Since 1999, she has been working as an Associate of Professor at the department of Statistics and Computer Science at Başkent University Hikmet YAVAŞ (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) The author was born in Germany. He graduated from primary, second- ary and high school in Çanakkale and university in Ankara. He obtained his MA degree in 1998 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He was awarded the degree of PhD in Public Administration in 2004. He was granted the title of associate professor in 2013. He works as an associate professor at the Department of Public Administration at Çanakkale On- sekiz Mart University. He has supervised several MA dissertations and one PhD dissertation. Konur Alp DEMİR (PhD Student) The author was born in Sakarya. He graduated from primary school in Sa- karya, secondary and high school in İstanbul and university in Eskişehir. He obtained his MA degree in 2012 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. He is a candidate of PhD in Public Administration at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. 437 About the Authors Lütfiye ÖZDEMİR (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) Dr Lutfiye Özdemir is a management associate professor at the Business Administration Department of Faculty of Economics & Administrative Science in Inonu University. Her areas of research are information technol- ogy, activity theory, entrepreneurship, personality characteristic, leader- ship, organization culture, crisis management, personnel empowerment, organizational loyalty, and creativity. Mehtap AKÇİL OK (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) She completed her primary, secondary and high school education in An- kara. After she graduated at the Department of Statistics from the Hacette- pe University in 1992, she completed her master’s and PhD degree on Bio- statistics at the same university. She began the first job in academia in 1993 at the Department of Nutrition and Dietetic, Hacettepe University. Since 1999, she has been working as an Associate of Professor at the department of Statistics and Computer Science at Başkent University. Mithat Arman KARASU (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) He was born in Sivas in 1974. He graduated from Gazi University Fac- ulty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in 1995. He has a Ph. D. at Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences. He is a lecturer at Harran University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Murat ÇEMBERCİ (Assist. Prof. Dr.) Murat Çemberci took his undergraduate degree from Uludağ University and he took his graduate and Phd degrees from Gebze high technologies Institute in 2006 and 2011 respectively. In same years he worked in logis- tics sector as manager. In 2012 he started to work in İstanbul Commerce University. He is instructing courses and writing articles on the following subjects: R&D and Innovation, Innovation Management, Entrepreneur- ship, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, International Transpor- tation. Mustafa Emre CİVELEK (Öğr. Gör.) Mustafa Emre CİVELEK took his undergraduate degree from İstanbul Technical University and graduate degree from yeditepe University in 1994 and 2002 respectively. From 1994 to 2008 he worked more than ten years in banking industry and mainly specialized in international trade finance operations. Currently he is a member of academic team in Istanbul Ticaret University. He instructs “E-Commerce” and “Foreign Trade” courses and he is also a PhD candidate in Management major. Prof. Dr.) Assistant Prof. Dr. Mustafa SANDIKCI had attended primary and sec- ondary schools in Bolvadin and had taken his diploma of high school in Muğla. He achieved his bachelor’s degree at Gazi University in Ankara. He worked as a teacher at Gaziantep Vocational Anatolian High School of Tourism between the years 1991-1993. Later on, between 1993 – 2011 he had been a lecturer at Afyon Kocatepe University Vocational School of Sandıklı. He has been an assistant professor at Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Tourism since 2011. Nihat KAYA (Assoc. Prof. Dr.) Nihat Kaya, is an associate professor of management and organization studies in the faculty of Economics, Business and Adminstration at Gebze Technical University in Turkey. He received his degree of doctor of phi- losophy in management and organization from Gebze Institute of Tech- nology. His current research interests include management, leadership, strategic management and human resource management. Özcan ZORLU (Assist. Prof. Dr.) Assistant Prof. Dr. Özcan ZORLU had succeeded his educational period of primary, secondary and high school stages in Muğla. He had his bachelor’s degree by being graduated from Balıkesir University School of Tourism and Hotel Management. He had his master degree at Balıkesir University and then doctoral diploma at Afyon Kocatepe University in 2013. After his experience at different positions within Hospitality Industry, he has been working as a lecturer at Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Tourism since 2007. He has been an assistant professor since 2014. Rükan Kutlu KORLU (Öğr. Gör. Dr.) He was born in Eskişehir in 1982. He graduated from the Eskişehir Os- mangazi University Department of Finance in 2004 and graduated from Eskişehir Osmangazi University Institute of Social Sciences Marketing Master Program in 2006. The author was accepted Uludag University PhD of Finance Program in Social Sciences Institute in 2009 and he was awarded a PhD in 2013. He began his academic career as a lecturer in Uludag Uni- versity Harmancık Vocational School Accounting and Taxation Program in 2009. He is currently working there as a second manager and Account- ing and Taxation Program Head. Sümeyra ALPASLAN DANIŞMAN (Assist. The largest towns in the province are İzmit and Gebze. The province is located at the easternmost end of the Marmara Sea around the Gulf of İzmit. Kocaeli is bordered by the province of Istanbul and the Marmara Sea to the west, the Black Sea to the north, the province of Sakarya to the east, the province of Bursa to the south and the province of Yalova to the southwest. The metropolitan area of Istanbul extends to the Kocaeli- Istanbul provincial border. The size and natural conditions of the Bay of İzmit allow for extensive port facilities, including the Gölcük Naval Base. The province is called the industrial capital of Turkey. Kocaeli has an airport named Cengiz Topel Naval Air Station which is used for military and civilian transport. Kocaeli has two universities: Kocaeli University and Gebze Technical University. Basis of the inspection was the official bid of the Montenegro Chess Federation from 26. April 2017 Tournament hall: “Elite Hotel Bitinya Ballroom” The size of the playing hall is 700 sqm. The light condition is sufficient. Next to the playing hall there are 3+5 toilets for men and 4 for women. The tables (80x80 cm) are in FIDE standard.

Submission Date:24/04/2018 Acceptance Date:05/06/2018 Abstract The aim of this research is to examine the anxieties and attitudes of university students towards English language courses. It is a survey type study of quantitative research methods. The population of the study consists of students from a state university in Turkey. The sample consists of 700 students determined by stratified sampling method. In the study, as data collection tools, English language anxiety scale and English language attitude scale were used. In this study, it was concluded that students with preparatory education had less anxiety scores than the students without preparatory education. It was found that freshman students feel less anxious about English lessons than junior and senior students. It was also found that females’ attitude scores towards English were higher than males’ and freshman students have higher attitude scores towards English lesson. © 2018 JLLS and the Authors - Published by JLLS. Usage of social media by especially students and many other people and institutions, which constitutes the target audience for universities, encourages the universities to effectively use this environment. Twitter is among these social media networks which facilitate the communication by providing a faster, easier and economical means to interact with target audience in different parts of the world. In order to contribute to effective use of Twitter, tweets of the top ten most followed state and foundation universities in Twitter were examined in our research. These tweets were then compared with each other by their subjects, by tools they use, and by the participation of users to the tweets posted. Differences among them were attempted to be identified by using the content analysis method. Keywords: Internet, Twitter, Social Media 1. INTRODUCTION “Technology provides society with new opportunities to design all things well.” (İşman, 2012) Technology’s new opportunities are learned quickly and the usage of computer and internet is increasing more and more ever day in Turkey too. Following social media is one of the main reasons of internet usage. According to the results of Survey on Information and Communication Technology in Households conducted by Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK), following social media is ranked 6th among other reasons of personal internet usage of individuals who used internet in January-March 2012.
