PUBLIC NOTICE

THE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF ( ROAD, ) (TEMPORARY CLOSURE) ORDER 2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the has on 8th June 2021 made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the above-named Order will be to temporarily prohibit vehicles from entering, waiting or proceeding along Wolverton Road, Newport Pagnell (at the M1 bridge) between Lane roundabout and Giffard Park Roundabout. in order to enable Highways to carry out the following essential works as part of the ‘M1 T3 smart motorway’ project: (1) Installation of temporary protection above the road, (2) Installation of environmental barrier panels to the bridge parapets, (3) Removal of the temporary protection above the road and in the interest of public safety. The affected length of road will be closed between the hours of 9:30am and 4:30pm every day (Monday to Friday) between 14th June 2021 and 9th July 2021. The road will be re-opened to the public during the hours of 4:30pm and 9:30am (Monday – Friday) and fully opened at weekends. Alternative routes (whilst Wolverton Road is closed): Motorists: The alternative route will be via Brickhill Street (V10), Monks Way (H3) and Marsh End Road (Vice Versa). Pedestrians: Access for pedestrians will be maintained throughout the closure via a Banksman on site For information on any affected bus service please visit the Council website at: https://www.milton- keynes.gov.uk/highways-and-transport-hub/bus-and-taxi/bus-service-disruptions-and-diversions. The Order will come into effect on 14th June 2021 and will remain in effect for a period of 3 month and will only take effect at times during the above period only when works are required. There will be no exemptions from the provisions of the proposed Order except for emergency service vehicles on operational duties. The closure will be clearly signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual. All affected properties will be notified of the forthcoming closures at least one week prior to works taking place. Any person committing a breach of the order will be liable upon prosecution to such fine as is prescribed by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
