(Continued from Page 3) Sam, who had played high school football in Sinton, was a freshman on the 1974 national championship team. There hasn’t been a nicer person than Sam and even though he transferred from Texas A&I to Texas A&M, he continued to support the Javelinas. He was a long-time State Farm Insurance agent in Kingsville. I’ve never heard a person say anything negative about Sam and the mention of his name usually brought a “really nice guy” response. THE TIMES HAVE been set for the Texas A&M-Kingsville home and away football games this fall. The last of the road game start times was finalized last week. Each of the five home games will have 7 p.m. kickoffs. Afternoon away games will be Oct. 31 at Midwestern State (1 p.m.) and Oct. 3 at Eastern New Mexico (3 p.m.). The remainder of the road contests will be at 7 p.m. The Javelinas have nine regular-season games and two Lone Star Conference playoff contests. Robinson, junior from Houston (Travis), cleared 7-4.25 in the high jump to take the gold medal in the field of NCAA Division I competitors. This is the best height in Division II this season. Perry, senior from Goliad, ran a 53.98 time and was second in Louisiana. It is a career best for Perry, who has the best time in the Lone Star Conference in the event.
