The draw will involve the two-top finishers in the ten qualifying groups (completed in November) and the eventual four play-off winners (decided in March 2020, and identified as play-off winners 1 to 4 for the purposes of the draw). The draw will spilt the 24 qualifiers into six groups of four. Qualified host nations will be pre- paired in the same groups. How are seedings calculated? Seedings will be based on overall European Qualifiers rankings, which are determined as follows: a) final position in group b) points c) goal difference d) goals scored e) away goals scored f) number of wins g) number of away wins h) lower disciplinary points total (3 points for red card including for second booking, 1 point for single yellow card for a player in a match) i) position in overall UEFA Nations League rankings (see Regulations of the UEFA Nations League) Play-off winners will therefore all be in the fourth seeding pot. Why do some teams already know which groups they are in? Host nations that qualify (or could qualify via the play-offs) will be placed automatically in the following groups to ensure they are at home in at least two group games: Group A: Italy (Olimpico in Rome) Group B: Russia (Saint Petersburg Stadium), Denmark (Parken Stadium, Copenhagen) Group C: Netherlands (Johan Cruijff ArenA, Amsterdam), Romania (National Arena Bucharest) Group D: England (Wembley Stadium, London), Scotland (Hampden Park, Glasgow) Group E: Spain (San Mamés Stadium, Bilbao), Republic of Ireland (Dublin Arena) Group F: Germany (Football Arena Munich), Hungary (Puskás Aréna, Budapest) Qualified teams in bold UEFA EURO 2020 Final Tournament Draw | Press Kit 3 HOW THE DRAW WILL WORK As Russia and Denmark both reached UEFA EURO 2020 via the European Qualifiers, an additional draw was held on 22 November to decide which team plays all three group stage games at home. Denmark will have three group stage home games and Russia two. Due to decisions of the UEFA Executive Committee valid at the time of the draw, the following teams cannot be drawn together in the group stage: • Bosnia and Herzegovina / Kosovo* • Serbia / Kosovo* • Russia / Kosovo* • Ukraine / Russia (the restriction also applies to St Petersburg as group match venue) *These clashes cannot happen during the group stage, because Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Serbia are all in the play-offs and therefore in the same pot. Kosovo are part of play-off Path D and have been assigned to play in Group C or F. All restrictions apply only to the group stage. The name Luzhniki derives from the flood meadows in the bend of the Moskva River where the stadium was built. Francis Piasecki était le numéro 10 de cette inoubliable équipe, un organisateur sachant aisément se muer en buteur et avant tout un homme de caractère. Durant neuf saisons, de 1977 à 1986, Francis Piasecki porta haut l’étendard du Racing Club de Strasbourg. Une période débutée en fanfare, avec la constitution astucieuse par Gilbert Gress d’une équipe mêlant individualités expérimentés et joueurs prometteurs du cru. A cette ossature alsacienne maintes fois fantasmée se sont greffés de véritables cadres du football français des années 1970 : Novi, Vergnes, Jouve. Piasecki n’était toutefois pas à cet instant un joueur « achevé ». Natif de la vallée de la Fensch, c’est naturellement qu’il débute au Football Club de Metz. Après un court passage à Valenciennes, il croit son heure arrivée au FCM mais fait les frais de la fameuse grève des joueurs de la fin 1972, mouvement national dont il fut perçu comme l’un des meneurs en Moselle. Envoyé à Sochaux, où il ne s’épanouira pas, il rejoint la capitale où Daniel Hechter tente de bâtir une équipe capable de remplir le flambant neuf Parc des Princes. Aux côtés de Dahleb et M’Pelé, Francis Piasecki endosse enfin le rôle de meneur de jeu dont il était privé à Sochaux.
