Dear parents

We decided to combine March and Aprils newsletter as there was so much crossover and building on the learning. There has been some wonderful learning opportunities both for the children and the staff. I am particularly drawn to our Anti-bullying week which was a tremendous success and allowed us to build on the links of our Terbeya Values and ROARing like Lions.

We have been fortunate enough to enter and win a number of competitions including celebrating Quran, Arabic and our Young Writers.

I would just like to take an opportunity to recognize the hard work my Staffing team put into developing learning and a culture of respect.

An action packed month!

Year 4 students have thoroughly enjoyed participating in events such as book week, science week, international happiness day, practical activities and much more! We have enjoyed playing ‘Babble Gabble’ in our English lessons which has helped children to recall story events and improve vocabulary. We now move our focus to a book called ‘’Incredible Sports’ in which we explore strange activities such as Ultimate Frisbee. Hands-on activities have also helped us forward our learning in Math lessons. We tackled fractions objectives by creating our own fraction walls and displayed them around our classrooms. This helped us to find equivalent fractions. It has been an exciting period in our Science lessons. Children really enjoyed taking part in Science week in which they watched documentaries, participated in assemblies and took part in experiments based on our ‘states of matter’ module. Welcome to Year 6 Newsletter Dear parents, Another month has raced by and we continue at pace towards our students’ completion of their time at AJA Primary. This month has been a real rollercoaster with some fantastic activities in school, our class performances for Book Week, our Mid-Term assessments and, of course, keeping up with our lessons and learning in the classroom. There is no doubt that our students in Year 6 have earned the upcoming holiday! It has been lovely to see in recent weeks what wonderful performers we have in Year 6. Our class performances took a lot of dedication and preparation from the students but it was worth it in the end as they put on a great show for their parents and peers. The confidence, enthusiasm and energy on show was really inspiring. We have also had the excitement of Science Week lately. We had a range of activities for the students to enjoy from exploding cotton to films in a blow-up planetarium to homemade slime. The students were positive and engaged throughout and showed off some excellent knowledge of the subject matter. It is always a pleasure for teachers to see students smiling and enjoying themselves as they learn. After the excitement of Science Week, the students focused their attention on demonstrating their improvements in their Mid-Term assessments. These assessments will prove useful for the teachers to identify the many strengths of our students but also the areas where we still need to focus in order to improve. What was particularly encouraging to see during these assessments was the effort that all the students put in. It was obvious that our students wanted to do their best and that is something for which all of them should be very proud.
