They were given an assignment to complete for the week which included writing a story, blurb, book review and a mask of their favorite characters. They have done a fantastic job and have produced some excellent work. VISIT TO QATAR NATIONAL LIBRARY The Year 10 Boys Trip to the National Library was an exceptional day. The boys were on their best behaviour and enjoyed the walk through the library to see the performance auditorium, the innovation rooms with recording equipment, filming material and a 3D printer. 12 CREATIVE LEARNERS TODAY, FUTURE LEADERS TOMORROW AL JAZEERA ACADEMY NEWSLETTER BUSINESS/ICT DEPARTMENT Academic leaders with Islamic values INJAZ LAUNCH EVENT AT QNCC The visit by Year 10 and 11 girls to the INJAZ launch event was successful. The event was attended by representatives from other secondary schools and universities in Qatar, who will be participating in this year’s competition. Students had the opportunity to meet the managers and organisers of the competition and asked key questions relating to their proposed business idea which Vinery, a health meal delivery service. SUPPORT AJA BUSINESS PROJECT Support AJA students who have developed a new business as part of competition for secondary schools in Doha. Vinery is a business that delivers fresh organic ingredients with healthy recipes. The students met with the manager of the branch who explained his reasoning behind starting up a franchise and his choice for choosing this particular one. Students were very engaged and extremely articulate in their choice of questioning to the franchisee. They also had the opportunity to tour the kitchen and see how the food is prepared; which included Abdulla Kareem (11BY) preparing a cheese fondue meal for his peers. 14 CREATIVE LEARNERS TODAY, FUTURE LEADERS TOMORROW AL JAZEERA ACADEMY NEWSLETTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT Academic leaders with Islamic values WE LOVE BALADNA FARM Year 11 IGCSE Biology students visited Baladna Farm in Al Khor. the largest sheep and livestock farm in the GCC which features the region’s most advanced rotary milking parlor. It makes science fun and opens up our minds to a whole new world. Here we have a group of our year 11 students, carrying out a titration experiment. Titrations helps us to calculate the concentration of an unknown substance. Just magical. They attended workshops on selective breeding and adaptations of falcons, the boys thoroughly enjoyed the hands on experience and are now considering a career in the biology field.
