Alianan SUBMITTED July 28, 2019 CHAPTER ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN DURING THE MONTH Indicate your chapter activities undertaken during the month such as Chapter GMM, Professional Development Seminars, Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives, ACTIVITY NO. 1 Title of Activity Exhibit Opening : The City Who Had Two Navels Date July 2, 2019 Met Museum, BSP Complex, Malate, Total Attendees 2 Venue Manila Objective of the Activity To provide a venue to showcase Philippine architecture, culture, history, and the arts Type of Activity GMM x Seminar Socio-Civic Others : Activity in line with 4Ps Profession x Professional Professional Organization Professional Product Activity in support of the x Unity x Accountability x Professional Excellence UAP corporate thrust The Metropolitan Museum of Manila held an opening reception for its newest exhibit entitled, “The City Who Had Two Navels.” The exhibit is curated by the Chapters own, Ar. Edson Cabalfin, PhD with Ar. Arlene Lusterio Taking inspiration from the novel, “The Woman Who Had Two Navels,” by National Artist for Literature Nick Joaquin, the exhibit displays two “navels” that have moulded our society. The first, how colonialism impacts the formation of the built environment, and second, how the process of neo- liberalization alters the urban landscape. Lectures on the themes of architecture, colonialism and neo-liberalization will also be provided. The exhibit is open from July 2 to October 19, 2019.
