It was inaugurated on 7th April, 2007 by the then President of Pakistan. Test flights have landed on 15th March, 2012 and the Airport is likely to become functional in Construction of Margalla Avenue 2015. B-17 and F-17 Scheme are centrally located in Zone-II. Travel time from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, Wah Cantt and Hassanabdal will be about 15 to 20 mints especially on implementation of the following projects: I. Margalla Avenue from Sector D-12 to B-17, GT Road (600 ft ROW). Inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan on 23rd May, 2012 and is likely to complete in current year. Road approved by CDA vide letter No. CDA/PLW-D(Staff/2(2)06/335 dated 01-11-2006. Establishment of new Fruit and Vegetable Market with state of the art facilities has been planned by CDA in the adjacent area in Sector C-17 Islamabad near Sangjani.
