Well, it offers a chance for players a challenge not usually present when role-playing in the latter centuries. Technology and science is not quite advanced and therefore not the usual savior in the game. The history and inter-species relations are not yet established, which opens non-trek gamers to the Star Trek RPG who usually don’t have knowledge of Star Trek universe. The attitudes and politics of space faring civilizations are less mature, not to mention that Starfleet personnel are like modern day humans in mannerisms. The galaxy is like the “wild the west” waiting to be explored. The purpose of this sourcebook is to provide information on running a campaign in the 22 nd century in one e-book. Unfortunately, the Player’s Guide and Narrator’s Guide by Decipher came out around the time Enterprise first premiered, our first glimpse into the 22 nd century of the Star Trek universe, so information is limited. Ultimately, several sourcebooks touched upon this century. Any stats or information already present in the current line will not be touched upon in this sourcebook. To fully use this material, you must already have the Player’s Guide and Narrator’s Guide . Starships is also required if you need stats on 22 nd century ships along with guidelines on building your own starship. Starship has the stats for the NX-01, Raptor class, Shuttlepod One, and a few more ships. Aliens contains information on most of the relevant aliens featured on Enterprise including the Suliban, and The Starfleet Operations Manual contains some brief information on 22 nd century Starfleet and related equipment, like the universal translator. 5 SETTING EARTH century A.D., the Middle Ages or more appropriate the Dark Ages began. I’m sure you have already discovered, as I have, that this event is truly a unique amalgamation of all the things that made Star Trek a phenomenon. My own small contribution to this legendary story has continued to be a source of great pride to me during my career, and although I have been fortunate enough to have many other projects to satisfy the artist in me, I have nevertheless always felt a deep and visceral connection to the show. But there are reasons why this never- ending story has endured. I have always believed that this special connection to Star Trek we all enjoy comes from the positive picture the stories consistently envision.

Julian Wangler 1 Enterprise: AFTERMATH #1 2 Julian Wangler Julian Wangler The XINDI CRISIS A Transgression Dokumentsammlung Ω www.startrek-companion.de 3 Enterprise: AFTERMATH #1 Up until about 100 years ago, there was one question that burned in every human that made us study the stars and dream of traveling to them: “Are we alone?” Our generation is privileged to know the answer to that question. We are all explorers, driven to know what’s over the horizon, what’s beyond our own shores. And yet, the more I’ve experienced, the more I’ve learned that no matter how far we travel or how fast we get there, the most profound discoveries are not necessarily beyond that next star. They’re within us; woven into the threads that bind us, all of us, to each other. The Final Frontier begins in this hall. Let’s explore it together. – Jonathan Archer, 2155 © 2014 Julian Wangler STAR TREK is a Registred Trademark of Paramount Pictures/CBS Studios Inc. all rights reserved 4 Julian Wangler Am 4.

  • NX-01 Season 5 Refit
NX-01 Season 5 Refit Introduction When Star Trek: Enterprise was abruptly canceled in February 2005, the show had completed 97 episodes and was gearing up for a fifth season. A number of changes were being discussed, one of which included a major refit/remodel of the titular spacecraft of the series, the NX-01 Enterprise. Because of the cancellation, fans of the show never got to see the new design on the small screen, although graphics designer Doug Drexler has posted conjectural images to his blog site, and the word is that the refitted NX class sailed again in both the 2011 Ships of the Line calendar and in the Ships of the Line: Active Duty video. (http://www.startrek.com/article/the-drex-files-ships-of-the-line-active-duty) The following article discusses the NX class design modifications from an in-genre point of view, and provides gaming stats to allow the vessel to be incorporated into one of Decipher's Star Trek Role Playing Game adventures. When Star Trek: Enterprise originally aired, the many similarities between the NX-01 design and that of the Next Generation's Akira class- led to the vessel being derided (perhaps more than was warranted) as the “Akiraprise”. The Season Five refit would have directly addressed this complaint, and brought the design of the NX-01 closer to the seminal design created by Matt Jeffries in the 1960's. Historical Background The NX-01 design was designed around the prototype WE-5 engine, first conceived by Doctor Henry Archer and developed at the Warp Five Complex, with the intent of creating the Earth's first warp engine capable of sustained travel at (or near) warp 5.

The movement fromLoser to Alliance constitutes a metanarrative endemic to nerd culture. As the “alien half-breed” of the original series, Spock inhabits the paradoxical role of the superior degenerate, a corruption of pure blood from an advanced civilization. At the same time, he is the machine, the personification of mathematical accuracy, redeemed from his isolation by friendship with the crew of the Enterprise. The ship thereby becomes a microcosm of the United Federation of Planets, a galactic and democratic state. Spock serves as the lynchpin of Trek’s cosmopolitan project, revaluing the nerd as the hero of trans-species friendship. By virtue of this trajectory, Spock invites resistance from the proponents of eugenics, whose avatar is Khan Noonian Singh, the mortal foe of the Enterprise. Khan stands for the tyranny of pure blood, and by rejecting him, Trek grounds its cosmopolitics in egalitarian pluralism, which gradually extends to Hortas and whales, Klingons and cyborgs.
