Following a Championship Clubs Committee meeting this morning, our first XV fixtures for the 2021 Championship Season have been confirmed by the RFU this afternoon. All of clubs will play each other once – either Home or Away, with the first games on Saturday 6th March and then 10 rounds through until Sat 29th May.

The top two sides will then contest Play Off Finals on the 12th and 19th June to decide overall finishing position, with the winners promoted to the Gallagher Premiership for the 2021/22 season.

6th March – Doncaster Knights (HOME) 13th March – Ealing Trailfinders (AWAY) 20th March – Nottingham (HOME) 27th March – BYE 10th April – Coventry (AWAY) 17th April – Hartpury RFC (HOME) 24th April - Cornish Pirates (AWAY) 1st May – Jersey Reds (HOME) 15th May – Saracens (AWAY) 22nd May – Richmond (Home) 29th May – Bedford Blues (AWAY)

Whilst we remain hopeful of being allowed crowds in limited numbers towards the end of the season the club are exploring options to live stream our home games. More details will follow in due course.

Head Coach, Paul Turner “This is a very tough draw for our boys who have only just resumed training under Phase 2 and not played any games since March 14th last year. The first two rounds of the competition being against full time professional teams who have been training full time and already been playing friendlies against Premiership sides, plus competing in the Trailfinders Cup will be a challenge. That said the boys are excited by the prospect and will just be pleased to cross the white line against teams of this calibre again.

We are obviously disappointed not to be welcoming the three times European Champions Saracens to Dillingham Park, but we showed last year at Kingston Park that we aren’t phased by playing in Premiership Stadia. And of course, everyone will be looking forward to Round 10 and a derby with our good friends at the Blues with Bedfordshire bragging rights at stake.”

The club will also be announcing two pre-season friendlies on Wednesday morning this week.
