Communiqué De Presse 06 SEPTEMBRE 2015 Renault Sport and the ELMS join forces Via its popular and family friendly events, the World Series by Renault has offered spectators an unforgettable experience in the motor racing universe since 2005. Beginning in 2016, the enthusiastic and curious are in for more intense weekends thanks to the agreement between Renault Sport and the European Le Mans Series. Activities for all ages as well as spectacular and varied races will be part of the programme. The Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 will represent the single­seaters, the Renault Sport Trophy for the GTS and the European Le Mans Series for Endurance. While they will share the bill at five meetings in 2016, each category will retain its identity and its specificities. Launched this season, the Renault Sport Trophy has already established itself as a new reference among feeder series’ towards the professional championships thanks to its extraordinary performance level and its ultra­competitiveness. An essential cornerstone of the Renault Sport strategy, the Formula Renault 2.0, which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, has been the break out category for many future champions such as Alain Prost, Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Felipe Massa, Valtteri Bottas, Romain Grosjean, Daniil Kvyat, Daniel Ricciardo and Carlos Sainz. The three International Formula Renault 2.0 series’ will reinforce their cooperation. The Eurocup, ALPS and NEC are working on complementary calendars to avoid date conflicts and allow drivers who have double programmes to accumulate the necessary points to validate their FIA super­license. The three categories will have a minimum seven events organized at Europe’s finest circuits, like Pau for the ALPS or Silverstone for the NEC. And for the first time in its long and rich history, the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 will be the curtain raiser for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix. Jean­Pascal Dauce, Renault Sport Technologies Director of Motorsport: “During a period of reconstruction for the feeder series’, we are thrilled to have concluded this agreement with the ELMS to organize our championships. After having collaborated by their side at several meetings the past two years, it was wise to take the plunge to offer varied events in as much for the spectators as for our competitors. This partnership will also offer a quality setting to the Formula Renault 2.0 and Renault Sport Trophy drivers in proposing race meetings at legendary circuits, including a number of F1 venues.     2020 Formula 1 Heineken Portuguese Grand Prix, Sunday Renault DP World F1 Team scored six points from the Heineken Portuguese Grand Prix with Esteban Ocon eighth and Daniel Ricciardo ninth at the first race in Portugal for 24 years. The double points finish means the team moves onto 120 points to remain fifth in the Constructors’ Championship and six points from third place. An action-packed race start saw Daniel move up to eighth after an early battle with the Red Bull of Alexander Albon, whilst Esteban was caught in a melee for the final points scoring position. As predicted, light rain was ever present during the race, but it was never heavy enough to alter proceedings. With grip levels consistently low, Daniel was the first to box with his Soft tyres wearing down rapidly forcing him to pit on lap 14 for fresh Mediums. With Daniel dropping towards the rear of the field having pitted early, Esteban - on the alternate strategy - completed 53 laps on his Medium tyres and was the last to make a first stop. By the time of his stop, Daniel, had scythed his way through the field with others stopping and was safely inside the top ten and in a battle for eighth with Sebastian Vettel. A slightly slow stop for Esteban meant he re-joined just ahead of his teammate, and despite having strong pace on the Softs for the final fifteen laps he was unable to make any major inroads on the cars ahead. Esteban crossed the finish line in eighth position, with Daniel just behind in ninth making it a double-points finish for the team.

    Communiqué De Presse 12 AVRIL 2015 Chinese Grand Prix race report Today’s Chinese Grand Prix came to a disappointing conclusion with just one Renault­ powered car collecting points. Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver Daniel Ricciardo finished in ninth position, having recovered from a slow start off the line. Scuderia Toro Rosso passed the flag in 14th position with Carlos Sainz. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo had a very slow start from seventh on the grid and dropped back to P17 at the end of the first lap. Despite setting a good pace, the Australian was caught in traffic and progress through the field was tricky. After a two stop race he finished in ninth. Daniil Kvyat retired on lap 16 with an ICE failure. Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Max Verstappen put in another fighting performance, overtaking multiple cars throughout the race. The Dutchman looked set for eighth position but just two laps from the end stopped suddenly on the pit straight with an ICE problem. Team­mate Carlos Sainz enjoyed a good start, but spun on the second lap and dropped down the order. A reported gearbox problem mid race caused a momentary loss of power but heavy traffic made it difficult to make an impression on the field. The Spaniard came home in 14th. Rémi Taffin, Director of Operations: We had a number of issues in China and did not give the drivers the equipment they needed. We developed a car system problem in Qualifying on Daniel’s car so we changed the ICE as a precaution. Then we had two unforeseen failures in the race.

    Communiqué De Presse 27 JUILLET 2014 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Report HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX RACE REPORT Infiniti Red Bull Racing­Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo raced to victory in today’s absorbing Hungarian Grand Prix. Daniel’s win, the second for the team and for the Renault Energy F1­2014 Power Unit this season, came after a thrilling three­way battle for the lead with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton. Sebastian Vettel secured seventh position for Infiniti Red Bull Racing and Jean­Eric Vergne ninth for Scuderia Toro Rosso, putting three Renault Energy F1­2014 Power Units into the top ten. The result consolidates Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s second position in the constructors’ championship and Daniel Ricciardo’s third in the drivers’ race. Key race points: Daniel Ricciardo mastered the ever­evolving track conditions to move into the lead on lap 9 during the first safety car period. He retained the lead until the second deployment of the safety car and then pitted for a third time in the final third of the race. The Australian hunted down Rosberg for P3, then made a bravado move on Lewis Hamilton for second on lap 67. The next lap he outbraked Alonso into the first corner for the lead and eased out a cushion of five seconds to seal his second career win and the second for the Renault Energy F1­2014 Power Unit. Sebastian Vettel was sitting in the top three until the first safety car.     Clermont-Ferrand (France), October 31, 2014 Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin evaluating 17- and 18-inch tyres Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin share the same vision that motorsport permits innovative technologies to be fostered in a competitive environment with a view to achieving closer ties with the technologies that are available to the motoring public. Accordingly, the two partners are currently exploring the feasibility of switching to 18- and 17-inch tyres for the Formula Renault 3.5 Formula Renault 2.0 championships respectively from 2016. An initial test session based on Formula Renault 3.5 cars was carried out at Valencia, Spain, followed by a second featuring Formula Renault 2.0 cars at Barcelona, again in Spain. Given the positive results achieved at these tests, Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin are pleased to announce their intention to pursue this joint-development programme, and further sessions are planned over the months ahead. Since January, the collaboration between Renault Sport Technologies and Michelin has enabled the two companies to collect a significant amount of data after completing several hundred kilometres in testing. The two entities are carefully studying the results of this groundwork in order to obtain a thorough understanding of the repercussions any changes in tyre dimensions might have for the drivers, as well as in terms of grip and suspension performance. As far as factors such as top speed, road holding, tyre wear and the wear of other components are concerned, the early conclusions are positive. Despite requiring a certain number of small modifications, the cars feature a more modern look and benefit from enhanced cornering performance.

    Porsche 919 Hybrid Return to top-level sport Porsche is making its comeback to the top-level motorsport arena: with the new 919 Hybrid the sports car brand is sending a platform for pioneering technology to the top category of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with the undisputed seasonal highlight of the 24-hour Le Mans race. Porsche's reputation precedes it at this venue: with 16 overall victories under its belt, the brand holds the record for this, the most famous endurance race in the world. In 2014 Porsche is returning to the top-level class endurance race after a 16-year absence - namely Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1). Matthias Müller, Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG explains: "The new and revolutionary efficiency regulations for this class were what prompted us to take this step. This is all particularly relevant for the development of future generations of factory-spec sports cars.     Press Kit 2018 // introduction Launched in 2016 by Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Formula One Team, the Renault Sport Academy is tasked with discovering and nurturing young driver talent through the racing ranks, where, ultimately, Renault Sport Formula One Team aims to find drivers able to deliver the team world championship titles. Drivers are selected on ability and potential, with the Academy able to draw upon Renault Sport Racing’s vast experience in motorsport as well as its global markets to find such talent. Mia Sharizman manages the programme and has a range of experience in motorsport including at Formula 1, Formula 2 and GP3 level. For 2018, the Academy has retained four drivers from its 2017 intake. Jack Aitken, a member since its inception in 2016, signs for a third year, as does Sun Yue Yang. Max Fewtrell and Christian Lundgaard both impressed in their first seasons with the Academy and both remain for a second year. The Academy is delighted to welcome three new drivers to the programme. As part of his prize for winning the highly-competitive Formula Renault Eurocup, Sacha Fenestraz has agreed to accept a place with the Academy. Arthur Rougier, winner of the 2017 French Formula 4 Championship, is on-board for 2018, alongside Victor Martins, runner-up to Arthur in his rookie season of single-seater racing. Four members will go wheel to wheel in the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2018 with Max, Christian, Arthur and Victor all set to contest the exciting series that races on nine Grand Prix circuits, including the streets of Monaco.

    Press Release OCTOBER 06, 2013 Podium lock out for Renault power in Korean Grand Prix Sebastian Vettel wins Korean Grand Prix for Infiniti Red Bull Racing­Renault, four seconds ahead of Kimi Raikkonen. Lotus F1 Team’s Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean finish second and third to make podium 100% Renault powered. Third all­Renault powered podium this season. Vettel has led 209 of the past 213 racing laps. Vettel’s win gives him a mathematical chance to seal championship in Japan. Renault­powered drivers locked out the podium in today’s Korean Grand Prix, with Sebastian Vettel (Infiniti Red Bull Racing) winning the chaotic race from Lotus F1 Team’s Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean. The perfect podium result is the third time this season that the podium has been 100% Renault­powered.* Vettel – whose pole position yesterday took Renault’s total of F1 poles to 208, equal with Ferrari’s record – opened up a comfortable lead at the start ahead of Grosjean, who had jumped ahead of Hamilton on the first corner. The pair built up a cushion of several seconds over the battles behind and were able to pit and rejoin in formation. Vettel remained in front despite two different safety cars but Raikkonen got the jump on Grosjean before the second safety car period. The Finn had a standout race from P9 on the grid, overtaking Rosberg, Hamilton, Alonso, Hulkenberg and finally his team­mate to score his second consecutive podium. Mark Webber started from P13 as a result of a grid penalty but quickly found himself into the top ten racing with Alonso and Raikkonen.
