ACADEMY Mia Sharizman, Renault Sport Academy Director “It was the hardest weekend for the Academy and for me personally. Everyone in the Academy looked up to Anthoine as being the benchmark for how to conduct themselves on and off track. He was humble and yet fast, he was caring and yet focused on being the best. He would help the younger drivers in the Academy and still complete his own training programme with absolute maximum effort. “Anthoine spent the last week of his life with the Academy boys at the training camp in the Pyrenees. It was he who convinced me that it will be good for everyone and he wanted to achieve this along with his fellow drivers as it was ‘a once in a lifetime achievement for all’. That is Anthoine – always thinking about others. “Anthoine was moving up nicely in the Academy where we already identified his F2 programme for 2020. He will be a great lost for us as he was also crucial in the development of the F1 team too. “It’s going to be difficult to move on but Anthoine would want each and everyone in the Academy to reach their goals and be the best they can be. There are races and championships to be won. The rest of the boys will focus on this, as they know that is what Anthoine would have wanted them to do. He has made everyone in the Academy a better person. That is how we will remember him.” ACADEMY FORMULA 2 jack Aitken “Although everything feels pretty unimportant right now, we have to keep moving, so we set our sights on Monza and doing the best job we can in Anthoine’s memory. Monza always produces some of the closest racing of the year so I’m looking forward to that.” Guanyu Zhou “There has been lots of emotions going through my mind over these last few days. Now, I will keep my head up and be fully focused for Italy. We will be racing with Anthoine in our hearts and we will do everything possible to have the best race for ourselves and for him.” ACADEMY formula 3 Christian LundgaarD “Monza is a great circuit and I have some good memories there. It will be tough to get back on track, but I will be racing for my friend Anthoine and his family. We struggled to get the qualifying right in Spa – we made up for that in the races – so we’ll be concentrating on being higher up the grid this weekend, fighting for the wins.” MAX FEWTRELL “Spa was a really dark weekend for everyone in motorsport. It affected all of us Academy guys, we were very close to Anthoine. It was a tough one to take, but we’ll remember him for who he was. We’ll race every lap for him. I’m looking forward to Monza now. We didn’t get the results in Spa, we were on the backfoot from qualifying, which we know we need to do better in. We’ll reset and go again this weekend and get some good results for our friend.” Yifei Ye “I’m really looking forward to the upcoming race weekend. I’ve always liked Monza and I took my maiden win in Formula Renault there last year. It will be fascinating to race at more than 300kph. I will be doing my best to score some great results, especially for our beloved hero Anthoine.” ACADEMY Eurocup victor martins “It’s a back to back race, so I’m fully ] focused on Budapest. The Nürburgring was the worst race of my career so far in terms of pure performance but we will keep working hard to improve. I couldn’t really pay tribute to my friend Anthoine last Sunday because of an engine issue but I’m sure the team and I will do our best to hold the French flag on the podium. It could also be a turning point in the championship if we find our true pace. I’m racing for Anthoine!” caio collet “I think we can have a strong weekend in Budapest. We need to improve and work on in a few areas but I’m confident that we will do it. I will be racing for Anthoine, so the team and I will do our best to make him proud.” LEONARDO LORANDI “I’m looking forward to the Hungaroring this weekend. It’s a new track again for me but from working on the simulator, it looks to be fun and a bit like a kart circuit! It’s the first race after the tragic loss of our friend and colleague Anthoine Hubert. His soul will always be with us and our thoughts will be for him. I will try to have some good results to make him proud.” 306.720 53 1:21.046s 5.793 Race dis tanc e (KM) Numbe r of laps Lap record Rubens Barrichello (2004) Circuit length (KM ) Ideal lap 1:19.005s 2018 pe rformanc e TYRE SELECTION 3 9 9.
