PARTYNEXTDOOR UNVEILS NEW VIDEO FOR "LOYAL" FEAT. DRAKE THE WILLIAM CHILD-DIRECTED CLAYMATION VISUAL PREMIERED VIA ADULT SWIM WATCH HERE January 21, 2020 (Toronto, Ont.) – PARTYNEXTDOOR has released a new video for his smash “Loyal” feat. Drake. The claymation visual, directed and animated by William Child and premiered by Adult Swim, portrays a storyline in which PND plays the main character on a wild mission to save the city of Toronto. The video follows recently-released tracks "The News" and "Loyal," which marked PND’s first solo releases since 2017's Seven Days EP. "The News" has earned 17 million global streams since its arrival as "Loyal" stacked up over 65 million global streams cumulatively, landing at #1 on Apple Music's Top U.S. and Global charts, as well as gracing the covers of their "Today’s Hits" and "R&B Now" flagship playlists. "Loyal" was also featured in Spotify's "New Music Friday" and "Are & Be" playlists and in The New York Times, Billboard, Pitchfork, Vulture, The FADER and more. Rolling Stone included PARTYNEXTDOOR in their "Most Anticipated Albums of 2020" and said, “[Loyal] feels like a re-centering for an artist with an outsized artistic footprint this decade.” To support the songs, PND launched three pop-up newsstands in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto. Long lines of fans formed early for the first come, first served giveaways, which included special hoodies and an exclusive zine. Watch the new video for “Loyal” now. Nielsen Music Year-End Report Canada 2016
NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 NIELSEN MUSIC YEAR-END REPORT CANADA 2016 Copyright © 2017 The Nielsen Company 1 Welcome to the annual Nielsen Music Year End Report for Canada, providing the definitive 2016 figures and charts for the music industry. And what a year it was! The year had barely begun when we were already saying goodbye to musical heroes gone far too soon. David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Frey, Leon Russell, Maurice White, Prince, George Michael ... the list goes on. And yet, despite the sadness of these losses, there is much for the industry to celebrate. Music consumption is at an all-time high. Overall consumption of album sales, song sales and audio on-demand streaming volume is up 5% over 2015, fueled by an incredible 203% increase in on-demand audio streams, enough to offset declines in sales and return a positive year for the business. 2016 also marked the highest vinyl sales total to date. It was an incredible year for Canadian artists, at home and abroad. Eight different Canadian artists had #1 albums in 2016, led by Drake whose album Views was the biggest album of the year in Canada as well as the U.S. The Tragically Hip had two albums reach the top of the chart as well, their latest release and their 2005 best of album, and their emotional farewell concert in August was something we’ll remember for a long time. Justin Bieber, Billy Talent, Céline Dion, Shawn Mendes, Leonard Cohen and The Weeknd also spent time at #1. Break out artist Alessia Cara as well as accomplished superstar Michael Buble also enjoyed successes this year. -

I first met Nick Drake when I arrived in London after attending the Isle of Wight Pop Festival in 1969, which featured as its curtain-closer a very different Bob Dylan to the one I had seen in Sydney in March 1966. However, on thinking about it, Dylan’s more scaled down eclectic country music approach - which he revealed for the first time - kind of prepared me for what I was about to experience in London. The day after I arrived at my temporary London lodgings with friends living in Warwick Avenue, I went to Les Cousins in Greek Street. -

The Connally General Store and Leasburg, Caswell County, North Carolina As Seen Through the Store's Records, 1881 and 1895
BOTTOMS, TIMOTHY S., M.A. "From a Needle to an Anvil, Come and See Me, and You Can Find It" The Connally General Store and Leasburg, Caswell County, North Carolina as Seen Through the Store's Records, 1881 and 1895. (1991) Directed by Dr. Jean Gordon. 153 pp. The typical southern country store of the late nineteenth century was an establishment that provided its community with many services. Stores brought economic relief in the form of credit and other banking services to a traditionally credit- and cash-poor society. They also provided their customers with goods from across the nation and the world. Besides these economic benefits, stores were a place where the community could meet and discuss the latest news and gossip. Finally, the store was a source of entertainment, whether it was a baseball game, a game of checkers, a fistfight or a political rally. This thesis is based primarily upon the surviving records of the Connally General Store of Leasburg, Caswell County, North Carolina. Examination of these records produced a two part thesis. First, by comparing Connally's records to southern country stores in general, it is possible to determine whether the operation of the Connally Store was typical or atypical. Second, the various transactions of Connally's customers allows for a somewhat limited examination of life in a rural tobacco village during the last two decades of the nineteenth century. This study focused on the years 1881 and 1895. These years were chosen because they represent times of economic boom and bust. Eighteen eighty-one was a year in which the overall economy was strong and the store's robust sales reflects consumer confidence.
