Ministry of Home Affairs Disaster Management Division (National Emergency Response Centre) **** Situation report on Flood/Heavy Rain fall in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Assam, Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha and West Bengal as on 11thAugust’2019 at 1800 Hrs. 1. Forecast i. IMD • 11 Aug(Day 1): No Warning of Extremely Heavy Rainfall (Red Alert )to the States. • 12 Aug (Day 2): No Warning of Extremely Heavy Rainfall (Red Alert )to the States. ii. In all these rivers falling/steady trends have been observed. 2. Worst affected district state wise at present: - Maharashtra Kolhapur and Sangli Gujarat Kutch, Surender nagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Morbi and Kheda Assam Chirang andDhemaji Karnataka Belagavi, Bagalkot, Yadagiri, Raichur, Kodagu, Kannada (south), Gulbarga, Kadra, Karwar Kerala Wayanad, Malppuram, Idukki, Kozhikkode,kannur, Thrissur and Palakkad, Kottyam and Alappuzha Odisha Rayagada and Nawaranghpur 3. In the combined rescue operations NDRF, Army, Air Force, Navy and ICG have rescued more than 1,30,000 people. 5. Status of State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF): during financial year 2019- 2020. Sl State Fund released under Fund released under NDRF in Cr. Meeting of National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC): - Cabinet Secretary on 08.08.2019 took stock of the flood situation, preparedness, rescue and relief operations and directed that immediate assistance, as sought by the states, be provided to meet the crisis. Senior officials of the Ministries of Home, Defence, Water Resources as well as those from NDRF, NDMA and Central Water Commission attended the meeting. Chief Secretaries and other senior officers from the State Governments participated in the meeting through Video Conference. During the Meeting following decisions were taken: - • Additional boats are also being deployed in Maharashtra and Karnataka for search and rescue operation. • It was also directed to release necessary advance from the State Disaster Response Fund to the affected states. • Concerned agencies were also advised to undertake immediate work relating to crop insurance claims. As per the decision of NCMC following actions have been taken: • Additional resources from NDRF, Army, Navy, Air Forces and Indian Coast Guard in affected state as per the requirement of States concerned. • Fund from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) has been released. • MHA has issued letter to DFS and M/o Agriculture to undertake work relating to crop insurance claims. 7. Meeting to review the flood situation in the country held in MHA: - On the direction of Hon’ble Home Minister, Minister of State (Home) took a meetingon 09.08.2019 to review and take stock of the flood situation of affected state and rescue and relief operations being carried out by NDRF, Army, Air Force, Navy and ICG. • It was apprised that NDRF, Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard in different rescue operations have evacuated more than 84000 people to the safer places., • DM Division of MHA, MoD and NDRF are continuously in touch with affected states and immediate action is being taken as per the need and requirement of states. • Indian Meteorological Department has conveyed that in the days to come the precipitation is likely to reduce and situation in the states will improve. • NDRF teams and Armed Forces are ready to meet the requirement of state based on the warning/ forecast of IMD. 8. Assistance provided by Government of India:- i. NDRF 12 Teams of NDRF are deployed. So far 9733 persons evacuated, 13 person rescued, 11 dead bodies retrieved and 47 livestock rescued. Provided medical Assistance to 6062 needy persons and 795 livestock in Assam. ii. Air Force/Navy/ Army - iii.
