Forecast i. IMD • 09 Aug (Day 1):Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Gujarat State, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka; Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places over Tamilnadu,Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Karnataka, West Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan; Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over North Interior Karnataka, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and West Rajasthan and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Lakshadweep, Vidarbha, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. • 10 Aug (Day 2): Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy falls very likely at isolated places over Saurashtra & Kutch; Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely at isolated places over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, Konkan & Goa and Gujarat Region and Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Lakshadweep, North Interior Karnataka, Madhya Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.. ii. ORANGE WARNING: In Assam rivers Brahmaputra, in Bihar rivers Bagmati and Kosi, in Chhattisgarh river Indravathi, in Andhra Pradesh river Godavari, in Uttar Pradesh rivers Ghagra and Ganga, In Gujarat river Narmada, In Karnataka river Bhima, In Kerala river Bharathapuzha flowing in SEVERE FLOOD SITUATION (above danger level) but below HFL. In all these rivers falling/steady trends have been observed except in river Narmada in Gujarat, river Bhima in Karnataka, river Bharathapuzha in Kerala where rising trends has been observed. 2. Worst affected district state wise at present: - Maharashtra Kolhapur and Sangli Gujarat Chhota Udepur, Tapi, Narmada and Panchmahal Assam Chirang, Morigaon and Jorhat Karnataka Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Yadagiri, Raichur, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Haveri and Shivamogga Kerala Idukki, Malppuram, Kozhikkode,kannur, Wayanad, Thrissur, Palakkad Odisha Rayagada and Nawaranghpur West Bengal Darjeeling, jalpaiguri and Kalimpong 3. Meeting of National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC): - Cabinet Secretary took take stock of the current situation, preparedness, rescue and relief operations and directed that immediate assistance, as sought by the states, be provided to meet the crisis. Senior officials of the Ministries of Home, Defence, Water Resources as well as those from NDRF, NDMA and Central Water Commission attended the meeting. Chief Secretaries and other senior officers from the State Governments participated in the meeting through Video Conference. For rescue and relief operations 19 more teams of NDRF are expected to reach tonight / tomorrow morning. During the Meeting following decisions were taken: - • Additional boats are also being deployed in Maharashtra and Karnataka for search and rescue operation • It was also directed to release necessary advance from the State Disaster Response Fund to the affected states. Fund released today. • Concerned agencies were also advised to undertake immediate work relating to crop insurance claims. Letter has been issued to DFS and M/o Agriculture for necessary action. 7. Meeting to review the flood situation in the country held in MHA: - On the direction of Hon’ble Home Minister, Minister of State (Home) took a meetingon 09.08.2019 to review and take stock of the flood situation of affected state and rescue and relief operations being carried out by NDRF, Army, Air Force, Navy and ICG. • It was apprised that MHA and MoD that NDRF, Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard in different rescue operations have evacuated more than 84000 people to the safer places., • DM Division of MHA, MoD and NDRF are continuously in touch with affected states and immediate action is being taken as per the need and requirement of states. • Indian Meteorological Department has conveyed that in the days to come the precipitation is likely to reduce and situation in the states will improve. • NDRF teams and Armed Forces are ready to meet the requirement of state based on the warning/ forecast of IMD. 8.
