Hogue 79 Pages Hogue (2013) tested some of Levinson's (1997) theoretical ideas about why people like listening to songs that make them sad. Particularly, Hogue tested Levinson's ideas of communion, mediation, savoring feeling, and how absorption interacted with the songs to affect communion and the emotion. Hogue, however, did not use musical stimuli that were familiar to the participants, which is a precursor to Levinson's (1997) theory. This thesis retested Levinson's theory comparing familiar songs against unfamiliar songs and songs from another participant. Data were collected from 82 participants. Each participant provided songs that induced happiness and songs that induced sadness.

    Pop naar het buitenland Exportbeleid voor 2017-2020 Popcoalitie, december 2015 Inleiding Deze notitie is een eerste aanzet richting internationaal promotiebeleid ten aanzien van de Nederlandse popmuziek vanaf 2017. De notitie is een initiatief van de Popcoalitie. De Popcoalitie is een samenwerkingsverband van een groot aantal organisaties uit de pop ‐ en dancemuzieksector, waaronder 3FM/NPO, Buma Cultuur (namens deze ook ADE en ESNS), Buma/Stemra, FNV ‐KIEM/BV Pop, MMFnl, Ntb, NVPI, Open House, POPnl, Sena Uitvoerende Kunstenaars, STOMP, VNPF, VVEM en de muziekvakopleidingen. Via de Popcoalitie spreekt de Nederlandse popmuzieksector met één stem over relevante thema’s voor, over, dan wel met betrekking tot de eigen sector en treedt zij waar nodig in overleg met overheden en/of andere maatschappelijke partijen. Internationalisering van de Nederlandse popmuzieksector is zo’n thema dat direct of indirect alle geledingen van onze sector raakt. In toenemende mate is het buitenland van belang als afzetmarkt, bron van inkomsten, maar ook van inspiratie en uitwisseling. Struikelblok blijft vooralsnog het gebrek aan internationale investeringsmogelijkheden voor Nederlandse acts. Hier ligt voor de sector, naast diverse andere, veelal binnenlandse issues, die los van deze notitie separaat geagendeerd zullen worden, dan ook één van de grootste uitdagingen voor de komende jaren: het - zo mogelijk publiek-privaat - realiseren van een investerings- c.q. marketingregeling ter ondersteuning van internationaal potentievolle Nederlandse musici, DJ’s en acts. Daarnaast dient er - ter ondersteuning van genoemde investeringsregeling – tevens een zgn. flankerend collectief promotiebeleid, alsmede een aantal gerichte promotiecampagnes op de ons direct omringende landen te worden opgezet. Zo’n samenhangend pakket is volgens de Popcoalitie het exportbeleid waar de Nederlandse popmuzieksector, inclusief de dance, in de komende jaren het meest bij gediend zou zijn.
