INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THIS BOOKLET

The lesson plan for your next Rank is contained within this booklet. This booklet will help you better coordinate your class attendance and spend the proper amount of time learning and training with all the different aspects of your curriculum.

To progress and prepare yourself for your next rank, you should come to class a recom- mended 3 or more times each week. You should also diversify the types of classes you take. The types of classes are: Forms, Sparring and Techniques/Basics, in addition to any Special Training that may be available.

During each class, all aspects of your curriculum will be taught— but specific aspects may be emphasized on particular days. Look at the Weekly Class Schedule for details on classes. When a class is labeled “SPARRING,” then sparring skills, techniques and strategy will be emphasized. Some classes may require special consideration (For example: Sparring re- quires appropriate safety equipment).

Approach each class with an attitude of confidence, humbleness, a strong desire to learn and never give up. In every lesson, practice as though you are defending yourself in a real life situation until it becomes second nature; both in technique and attitude.

Remember to communicate with your Masters and Instructors; it is essential for a proper Instructor/Student relationship and will result in effective learning. If you have a question or need assistance with your lessons, you should ask a Master or Instructor for assistance.

With earnest effort, sweat, and practice you will receive far more than you ever imagined. This is more than a guarantee. Later, you will find yourself saying this very statement to be- ginners.

Your journey to earn your next Rank begins now!
