04-2016 KIDE Invitation President Pak Keong Lai.Pdf 1 INVITATION August 1st, 2016 Dear Pak Keong Lai, President of Macao Innovation Invention Association It is a great pleasure to send the sincere invitation of 2016 Kaohsiung International Invention and Design EXPO (KIDE) which will be held by World Invention Intellectual Property Associations (WIIPA), implemented by Taiwan Invention Products Promotion Association (TIPPA) and advised by Kaohsiung City Government at International Convention Center Kaohsiung (ICCK), in Kaohsiung, Taiwan from December 9th to December 11 th , 2016. Kaohsiung is heading toward "green", "eco", "technology", "culture" and "natural" development. The city enjoys a year round sunny and pleasant climate. It also has successfully utilized its rich history and culture, mountain and ocean resources, and developed them into veritable tourist attractions. As one of the most important transport hubs in Southeast Asia, the public transportation network in Kaohsiung is excellent, with a well-developed three-dimensional transportation network rendering sea, air, and land transport. This is not only one of the biggest international exhibitions in Asia, but also the first exhibition which combines “Invention”, “Design” and “International Conference”. Commercialization and Marketability: estimation of the new product’s future expanding sales potential, including regions, quantity, amount, etc. (20%) c. Performance and Practicality: Simple using operations, consideration of safety and environmental concerns, easy maintenance, compatibility with a variety of systems, easy to expand peripheral considerations, energy saving consumption. (20%) d. Aesthetic: shape, color and color matching performance, product series performance, corporate identity, system performance, materials usage, user-friendly interface and operation. (20%) e. Presentation: An inventor’s can present his/her invention’s features, functions and structures completely and clearly. (20%) (5) Scoring for DESIGN will be in accordance to the following evaluation criteria: 5 a. Concept: The purpose or the reason to improve or create the design. (15%) b. Creativity: The design of innovation, uniqueness and originality. (20%) c. Commercialization and Marketability: The frequent inquiries and high usability, practicality, convenience and acceptance in the market. (20%) d. Aesthetic: The way or the skill to perform the design. Shape, color and color matching performance, product series performance, corporate identity, system performance, materials usage and User-friendly interface and operation. (20%) e. Presentation: The presenter can present the features, functions and structures of the concept/design completely and clearly. (25%) The above assessment criteria must be adjusted by the judging panel. (6) Awards: After completing the evaluation of entries within the stipulated time allotted by the General Assembly, the judging panel will meet and form a resolution, then announce the winners before the awards ceremony. This year the General Assembly is expected to grant the following awards: a. According to evaluation results, grant gold, silver and bronze medals to entries with excellent performance as encouragement; b. Grant national special award to entries from different participating countries after selection of representatives from participating countries authorized by the General Assembly. H.     Journal of Archaeology and Anthropology‧75:37-70‧2011 From the “Twenty-five Ladies’ Tomb” to a “Memorial Park for Women Laborers”: Gender, Religion, and the Politics of Memory in Taiwan’s Urban Renewal Anru Lee∗ and Wen-hui Anna Tang** ABSTRACT This essay looks at the recent renovation of the Twenty-five Ladies’ Tomb, and examines the politics of the feminist movements and the politics of memory as they are expressed through different meanings of female ghosts, in southern Taiwan. People who were involved in the renovation process included the families of the deceased “twenty-five maidens,” the Kaohsiung city government, and feminist groups in Kaohsiung and elsewhere in Taiwan – most notably the Kaohsiung Association for the Promotion of Women’s Rights – all of whom had different considerations and therefore diverse expectations regarding the future and purpose of the tomb. In Specters of Marx (2006), Derrida uses the idea of “specters” and “haunting” as consequences of historical injustice and tragedy metaphorically but powerfully. These two elements come together in our essay as well. However, the “ghosts” in our accounts are more literally ghosts with whom some (if not all) of our ethnographic subjects interact. They appear, express their sorrow, and demonstrate their grievances. The reestablishment of peace and order essential to residents of both the living world and the afterlife thus hinges upon mutual understanding and close collaboration between them. Yet, as meanings are constantly contested, so is the nature of the deceased’s requests. The different interpretations that the (living) socio-political forces give to the deceased’s needs open up new terrains of contestation for the memory of the past and the rights and obligations at the present.

    Kaohsiung, TAIWAN Deepening of Berths 65 and 66 There are currently seven international harbours in Taiwan playing important roles in economic development: Keelung, Kaohsiung, Hualien, Taichung, Suao, Anping, and Taipei. The port of Kaohsiung is Taiwan’s leading international commercial port with Anping serving as its auxiliary harbour. The deep-water port of Kaohsiung is the marine transit hub for East Asia and South Taiwan. Featuring a natural harbour and two access channels with depths of 11 and 16 metres, the 2,683-hectare port is capable of handling up to 100,000-DWT vessels. Kaohsiung currently has five container terminals and a total of 118 berths – including 26 container berths – which can accommodate 6,000-TEU post-Panamax container ships. Handling over 70% of Taiwan’s container traffic and 60% of the country’s total international trade volume, the harbour has been the world’s third largest container port for many years, with a container throughput of 10 million TEU in 2006. Plans have been made to benefit from geographical advantages and nearby software and hardware facilities to speed up the development of Kaohsiung Harbour. VII, no.6, June 1954, p.13) 1) From the beginning to the reorganization of the Company in the mid-fifties Maintenance of company aircraft Besides scheduled and charter air services, contract work, and secret missions, there was a fourth type of activity, in which CAT was involved since the early days, and that was aircraft maintenance done for the U.S. Air Force. Already in Mainland China, CAT had had its own repair shop: the S.S.Chung, a former US Navy Landing Ship Tank (LST).
