The Coventry & Leicester Cat Club 23 rd February 2013 Ian Macro Many thanks to Lesley, Jill, Sarah and Georgina for inviting me to judge at the show – a good atmosphere despite the cold, and some lovely cats. I was ably assisted today by Yes! Candidate Robert Wild LH/SLH Ginger of any Pattern or AC Tortie/Tortie Tabby Cat Male; MC & BIC Warden’s RALPH OMALLY, (Semi Long Hair Ginger & White), MN, 1 year Friendly young chap with a sweet open expression, and a good size for his age; soft coat very well prepared in a rich colour and with good tabby markings and clean white paws. LH/SLH Ginger of any Pattern or AC Tortie/Tortie Tabby Cat Female; MC Warden’s TAMMI (Semi Long Hair Tortie & White), FN, 3 years Slightly nervous girl with lovely long whiskers and eyebrows and hairy ears, excellently prepared soft fur with a nice pattern, and a lovely expression and temperament once she relaxed a bit. AV Novice Adult; 1 [274], (83w), M, 03.05.2012 Seal Point Snowshoe with a medium sized head that is a broad wedge with rounded contours, high cheekbones and a muzzle of good length with level bite and a fair chin. He has large ears with rounded tips that are broad at the base, and walnut shaped eyes with good colour. His body is slim, long and firm with long legs, short oval paws and a long tapering tail. He is covered with a short smooth glossy close lying coat of with a resilient texture, with white on the front paws and back of the lower legs and showing an inverted V on the face, with good colour to the mask and ears. 2 [265], (76b 30), M, 28.02.2012 Blue Eyed Snow Spotted Bengal with a rounded head with long tapering muzzle, long whiskers, pronounced whisker pads; I couldn’t check the bite as he was in a bad mood. He has large rounded ears with tufts set wide apart with a flat skull between, and large blue rounded eyes. He has a thick neck, strong body, muscular legs and a long slightly tapering tail. He is covered with very soft dense fur showing rosettes and elongated spots in sepia on an ivory ground, with a darker spine line, chest bars, chin strap and a spotted tummy. AV Limit Adult; 1 Bates’ JANAMEL JAYSHELM’S JAVANI, (77), M, 19.07.2011 Singapura with a rounded skull with good width with a medium short broad muzzle with a blunt nose, definite whisker break and a strong chin and level bite. He has large deep cupped ears and large yellow expressive eyes with a dark outline. Medium sized body with muscular legs, small oval feet and a long tapering tail. He is covered with a soft fine glossy close lying coat in old ivory with sepia ticking, and he has barring on the inner front legs and back knees, and with cheetah lines to the face and a dark outline to the nose. Lovely chap shown in good condition. 2 Aroha’s NIDORAN THE SECRET OF NIMH, (33a36c), M, 01.03.2013 Lilac Smoke Devon Rex with a short broad wedge head showing good width with high cheekbones and strong rounded muzzle that is just a little longer than ideal. Level bite and a fair chin, with whisker break, some whisker pads and stubby whiskers; in profile he has a slight stop. He has large ears without tufts or muffs that are wide at the base and set wide apart on a flat skull, and with good set, and large oval eyes set well apart; overall he has a fair Devon expression. He has a firm muscular body with a strong chest, long slim legs, small oval paws and a long tapering tail. He is covered with short fur that shows tight waves on his body, flanks an upper legs; the fur is generally soft, but slightly coarser on the lower back and top of the tail, and slightly lacks density on his sides. 3 Bates’ WHIMZEEREX GEORGE WEASLEY, (33a 19), M, 01.10.2011 Red Tabby Devon Rex boy who has a short, broad wedge head with high cheekbones, a strong muzzle with a fair chin, untidy bite, and defined whisker break and broken whiskers. In profile he shows more of a curve that a stop. He has large ears with slight tufts which are wide at the base and are set wide apart with a flat skull between set a little higher than ideal, and he has large oval eyes set wide apart. He has a long neck, solid well-muscled slender body with a good neck, long slim legs with small oval paws, and a long tapering tail. He is covered with a short soft dense coat that shows loose waves on his body, shoulders, legs, flanks and tail, and he is well covered elsewhere. Overall, a lovely boy with an excellent temperament and very well prepared. AV Kitten 6-9 months 1 James’ BALLEGO SCARLET OF TARA, (80L 31d), F, 07.06.2012 Red & White LaPerm with a modified wedge head with rounded contours; at present the head is a little narrow but that should improve. He has a medium length broad muzzle with strong chin, level bite and moderate whisker break. He has medium sized ears with furnishings set in line with the contours of the head, and medium large expressive oval eyes. He has a medium size body with neat legs and paws and a long plumed tail, and is covered with a medium long coat with a resilient texture. 2 Phillips’ LILYPUT DUCHESS KATE, (74c), F, 31.05.2012 Lilac Tonkinese girl with a moderately proportioned wedge head with a medium length muzzle with whisker break, level bite, fair chin and whisker pads developing. Large ears with rounded tips, and medium sized pale aqua oval eyes. Good sized firm body for her age, and slender legs with neat oval paws and a long tapering tail. Short close lying coat with a nice sheen and a pleasing body colour with darker lilac points, shown in excellent condition. 3 Edwards & Garratt’s KREMLINKATZ BAYUSHKI BAYU, (16a), F, 04.06.2012 Russian Blue with a short wedge head with an almost straight profile except for a slight bump on the nose. Some whisker pads, a shallow chin and level bite. Tall high set ears and small almond shaped eyes of good colour. Long muscular body with long legs, small oval feet and a long tapering tail. She is covered in short soft dense coat in mid blue showing silvering. AC Cat with One of Two Master Cat Certificates 1 Warden’s RALPH OMALLY, (Semi Long Hair Ginger & White), MN, 1 year See above 2 Gummery’s MC MAVERICK (Short Hair Tabby & White), MN, 1 year Young Mackerel Tabby boy sporting a fine set of whiskers and lovely expressive eyes. He was very happy in his pen, but a little nervous out of it. Soft glossy coat with good markings and white socks, all prepared excellently. AC Cat or Kitten Shown by a Child Under 16; 1 Warden’s TAMMI (Semi Long Hair Tortie & White), FN, 3 years See above AC with a Friend in the Pedigree Section; 1 Warden’s RALPH OMALLY, (Semi Long Hair Ginger & White), MN, 1 year See above AC Prettiest Female; 1 Lewis’ POLLY FLANDERS (Semi Long Hair Black & White), FN, 7 months Pretty young lass with a very sweet purr and a lovely nature, a good size for her age. Bright large yellow eyes give her a nice alert expression, and nice long whiskers. Good solid black colour with bright white chest and paws. AC Radius Cat or Kitten; 1 Warden’s TAMMI (Semi Long Hair Tortie & White), FN, 3 years See above AC Half Pedigree Cat or Kitten; 1 Swingler’s NUTMEG, (Short Hair Brown Spotted Tabby), FN, 3 years 7 months Very friendly little girl who bounced around the cage and insisted on showing me her tummy; lovely rich colouring and glossy coat, shown in excellent condition and my take home cat of the day. 2 Rogers’ MC SIR SPROCKET, (Short Hair Silver Spotted Tabby), MN, 1 year 6 months In comparison to the previous girl, this is a much calmer fellow with lovely shiny close lying coat of charcoal spots on silver ground. Lovely temperament, and a difficult choice between the two. Best Presented LH/SLH Cat of Kitten; 1 Browns’ IGMC AMBER, (Semi Longhair Red Point), FN, 10 years Friendly well prepared girl with pale blue expressive eyes and lovely soft fur with rich coloured points on a pale ground. 2 Bailey’s GMC LULU, (Long Hair Tortie Shaded & White), FN, 1 year 6 months Nice temperament to this girl who has long soft fur excellently prepared, with yellow eyes peeking out from under the fur. A difficult choice between the two. 3 Clarke’s GMC ROCKY, (Semi Longhair Blue Colourpoint), MN, 3 years 6 months Big chap with a big purr, but unfortunately his preparation wasn’t quite up to the standard of the previous two. AC with Most Appealing Expression; 1 Scott’s BOBBY DAZZLER, (Semi Longhair Chocolate Point), MN, 11 months 2 Clarke’s GMC ROCKY, (Semi Longhair Blue Colourpoint), MN, 3 years 6 months 3 Lee’s MC ISA, (Short Hair Snow Spotted), FN, 2 years 3 months AC Senior Cat; 1 Chapman-Beer’s IGMC BRUNO, (Short Haired Brown), MN, 4 years 6 months Lovely friendly chap with lots of purrs and kneading; Lovely expressive eyes, firm sleek body covered in a beautiful glossy brown coat; wonderful temperament and excellently prepared.
